yeah, I feel like I've seen this script 400 times before. they'll start the first two months below .500 and then they'll go .700 over the rest of the season, win the AL West... and then lose in the ALDS.

This A's teardown seemed pretty imminent for a year or so. Honestly, I don't think the team was all that good (hard to see them competing with Houston for a while) and outside of Olson/Chapman there weren't very many players I'd lock up/build around. This isn't the A's first goaround with rebuilding (2007-11, 2015-17) and the A's seem to be getting good prospect packages.

It doesn't even seem like the Reds are trying to rebuild. It seems like they're simply slashing payroll.
