You know what's funny is I had actually written that exact same thing and then deleted it before I posted. I'm so glad he never won a Super Bowl.
.... and he made Rivers seem much worse. Rivers could be such a whiny little bitch when he played with L (can't give him the props of adding the T), and he can still be whiny now, but doesn't seem to be as much a little bitch. I cheer for the guy and may even forget the "act like you've been" there moment.

Thursday the Ravens beat the Chargers and slowed that Juggernaut. The Ravens are in a good spot. If the saints can beat the Steelers, the Steelers will not be in a very good position because the Colts will move into the sixth position of the playoffs. The Rabenswill be at the top of the AFC North.

Christmas couldn't be better if the Seahawks win tonight against the Chiefs.

The standings certainly have been jumbled in Week 16.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (11-3)
2. New England Patriots (10-5)
3. Houston Texans (10-5)
4. Baltimore Ravens (9-6)
5. Los Angeles Chargers (11-4)
6. Indianapolis Colts (9-6)

7. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6-1)

In order for these positios to remain the same:

Indianapolis has to beat the Titans at Tennessee in order to stay. Or they need the Steelers to lose.
Steelers have to beat the Bengals at home in order to have a chance. If they lose, they're out.
Ravens have to beat the Browns at home to keep the #4 or the Steelers to lose.
Patriots have to beat the Jets at home.
Chargers have to beat the Broncos in Denver

Finally....The Chiefs must win tonight against the Seahawks in Seattle or win next week at home against trhe Raiders. Two loses and they fall to #5.

If things remain as they are now then the Texans will host the Colts and the Ravens will host the Chargers. If those games are played, I like the Texans and the Ravens, but the Chargers are better on the road than at home.

If that holds true, The Ravens would then go to Kansas City and the Texans would go to Foxboro.

Patriots at Kansas City for the AFC Championship??

The latest breakdown from NFL.com.......

AFC
i

1. Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) -- X
FPI playoff chances: 100 percent

Sunday night's loss in Seattle cost the Chiefs a chance to clinch the AFC West and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. They still control their chances and can lock it all up with a victory in Week 17 over the hapless Raiders. But a loss, combined with a Chargers victory, would relegate the Chiefs to a wild-card position.

Next up: vs. Oakland Raiders

i

2. New England Patriots (10-5) -- Z
FPI playoff chances: 100 percent

NFL Playoff Machine

It wasn't pretty, but the Patriots' victory over the Bills propelled them back into the AFC's No. 2 spot after the Texans' loss to the Eagles. The Patriots clinched the AFC East and now control their path moving forward. They can lock up a first-round bye with a victory in Week 17 and even have a chance at the No. 1 overall seed, if they win in Week 17 and both the Chiefs and Chargers lose. That would bring a semblance of normalcy; the Patriots haven't played on wild-card weekend since 2009.

Next up: vs. New York Jets

i

3. Houston Texans (10-5) -- X
FPI playoff chances: 100 percent

Even with Sunday's loss in Philadelphia, the Texans clinched a playoff berth by virtue of the Steelers' loss. They can win the AFC South with a Week 17 victory. A loss would leave them as a wild-card entrant, with the winner of the Colts-Titans game clinching the division.

Next up: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

i

4. Baltimore Ravens (9-6)
FPI playoff chances: 83.0 percent

Suddenly, the Ravens have control of the AFC North. Their victory Saturday night in Los Angeles, combined with the Steelers' loss Sunday, means they will win the division with a victory in Week 17 or a loss by the Steelers. Who would have thought that a late-December game involving the Browns would carry so much weight?

Next up: vs. Cleveland Browns

i

5. Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) -- X
FPI playoff chances: 100 percent

Saturday night's loss weakens the Chargers' chances to win the AFC West and home-field advantage. Even with the Chiefs' loss on Sunday night, the Chargers will have to root for the Chiefs to lose again in Week 17 -- at home against the Raiders -- to have a chance.

Next up: at Denver Broncos

i

6. Indianapolis Colts (9-6)
FPI playoff chances: 52.2 percent

Sunday's blistering comeback against the Giants, combined with the Steelers' loss, put the Colts squarely in the playoff picture. Their path is simple: A win in Week 17 over the Titans would clinch a playoff spot, either as the AFC South champion (if the Texans lose) or as the sixth seed.

Next up: at Tennessee Titans

Still alive
  • Tennessee Titans (9-6, 47.7 percent chance): The Titans' path to the playoffs is identical to that of the Colts: Win against Indianapolis in Week 17 and they're in, either as the AFC South champion (if the Texans lose) or as the sixth seed.

  • Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6-1, 17.1 percent chance): The Steelers have almost no chance to be a wild-card team. Their best path to the playoffs is with a Week 17 victory against Cincinnati, combined with a Ravens loss. They could theoretically be a wild-card team if they win, and the Colts and Titans tie.

Pats are the first team to be set for the playoiffs. They could get the #1 seed if both the Chiefs and the Chargers lose today. Let's go Raiders and Broncos.

AFC Playoffs

  1. Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) – Clinched a playoff spot already but need to beat the Raiders to lock up the AFC West title and the number one seed. A loss could send KC down to the fifth seed.
  2. *New England Patriots (11-5) – The Patriots have a bye as the 2 seed and will clinch the top seed if both the Chiefs and Chargers lose.
  3. *Houston Texans (11-5) – Clinched the AFC South title and after an 0-3 start, will be the 3 seed in the playoffs.
  4. Baltimore Ravens (9-6) – Clinch the AFC North with a win over the Browns or a Steelers loss. Could earn a first round bye with help.
  5. Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) – Clinched a playoff spot and either will be the top seed or five seed.
  6. Indianapolis Colts (9-6) – Indy faces Tennessee with a playoff spot on the line. The winner is in as a wildcard, but if the Texans lose, the winner clinches the AFC South.
  7. Tennessee Titans (9-6) – See above.
  8. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6-1) – Must beat the Bengals and have the Browns beat the Ravens to get in the playoffs as AFC North champion. Otherwise, could sneak in with a win and a Colts-Titans tie.

Steelers are struggling against the Bengals. There are about 6 minutes to go in the 3rd and the Bengals lead 10-3. Steelers are celebrating every tackle like they just won the Super Bowl. I could never understand a coach allowing his team to celebrate anything when they're losing.

Ravens were cruising against the Browns 21-7 when lamarjackson had a TD called back. From that point they've seemed to have lost momentum and baker mayfield just launched a 40 yard TD pass. 21-14 in the 3rd.

Looking forward to the Colts and Titans tonight. Winner gets a playoff spot.

Down to the Colts and Titans - it would seem, thus far, if you beat the Pats at home, you're out of the playoffs.

Jags - out
Detroit - out
Titans <----
Miami - out
Pitt - out *in all likelyhood

Bad omen for the Titans

All home teams are favored in the Wild card. If it holds true then the Chiefs will host the Raves and the Patriots will host the Texans. In the NFC the Saints will host the Cowboys and the Rams will host the Bears.

The odds makers are hedging right now as all of thye home teams this weekend are favored by 2.5 points except the Bears and Eagles because no one is sure that Nick Foles can play. He walked off the field after taking a shot to the chest but nearly collapsed in the tunnel once he was out of sight. Second time in two weeks that he's taken a helmet shot to the sternum. Maybe the head injuries would and use of the helmet would stop if the NFL just made a rule that said "Use of the helmet as a force in a tackle will result in a one year suspension and loss of pay for that period." I find it odd that kids playing football up through the eighth grade can tackle using their shoulder pads looking forward but start using their head as a spear once they get into high school.

Packers want to interview McD and Flores. Browns and Broncos have also asked for Flores.

8 openings, a shortage of candidates, and flores connected to at least 3 of them...don’t think we’ll have our defensive playcaller back next year.

@MikeGarafolo

If you’re wondering when Josh McDaniels’ interview with the #Bengals is happening, it apparently won’t. Source says McDaniels is passing on Cincy’s request.
Not sure why teams are interested in Flores and a HC, our D was suspect this year seems weird to me. I would think they would want to wait a year or two. But hey what do I know
