Yea it seems like they are only interested in vet experience for the right price. Both Maclin & Decker may be asking for too much. But its a smart move by Ozzie. Neither Wallace or Perriman have the demeanor to be a leader. Wallace can be a poison if they trusted him for that role.

The door was still open.

Jeremy Maclin signs two-year contract with Ravens

While he's not a WR you have to fear...he might not even be as good as Steve Sr, but he's better than what they had last week.

@The Klaw

Good pickup ATL. Don't recall hearing who he was in contact with or if he even visited anyone else after Baltimore, but he must have taken the best contract available. Good pickup for the ratbirds.

Maclin should easily push both Wallace & Perriman for the WR1 or split end/X-receiver roll. Wallace & Perriman are better suited as the stretch specialists. While they don't appear to have a true slot guy, I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3 line up at various positions all throughout the season.

I think BUF had shown some interest...terms are not out there yet that I've found, but Wallace has a $8 mil cap hit, Perriman has maybe $3 mil...BUF is noted to be tight against the cap, BAL may have been the best offer...I think he was a $10 mil cap hit in KC.

You're right. The mix doesn't seem ideal as all 3 main guys are more stretch the field types, but of the group Maclin probably has the best skill set for the slot work.

Ozzie can't draft a WR worth a damn, but somehow someway he keeps having these quality vets fall into his lap.

This would likely mean an end to Perriman after his rookie contract.

Didn't know the TE depth chart was so banged up in Baltimore.

Watson (achilles) & Williams (knee) are still recovering from surgeries, and Gillmore (undisclosed) left last Thursday's practice to injury. Another guy named Waller is also on the shelf for an undisclosed injury. That leaves 2 unknowns by the name of Nick Boyle & Ryan Malleck as the only healthy TEs for their upcoming minicamp. Watson & Williams are expected to return for training camp though.

He has the length/build every teams wants for an outside WR...I think if he gets 60+ targets again he might yield enough fruit for them to keep him...this yr is critical. If they don't see him produce 50/750-800/7-8 TD he probably won't, but both Maclin and Decker are hovering around that 30 y/o number.

Exactly!

It's been a minute for a good drafted WR in BAL.
About the only name that comes to mind that rises above the rest is Torrey Smith. But even he didn't pan out very well.

Various prolific FA's from over the years:
Derrick Mason
David Tyree
Anquan Boldin
Steve Smith
Mike Wallace
Jeremy Maclin

Ickey Shuffle

Do you have a minute to talk about Joe Burrow?

Maclin should be the #1 for the Ravens the moment he steps in their office. Top 10-15 WR been held down in a pedestrian scheme for years. I think he's going to see 150 to 175 targets easy.

Deadly. Just like that the Ravens probably trying to find room for the top spot in the North.
If only they could figure out their running game. I'm not a believer in Terrance West or Kenneth Dixon. Dixon has more promise but has yet to prove he can stay healthy.

I agree. Gotta say the North has probably some of the deadliest receiving corps in the NFL (minus Cleveland of course).

In order of how I'd rank em:

PIT
1. Brown
2. Bryant
3. Rogers
TE. James/Grimble
Depth. Smith-Schuster/Coates/Heyward-Bey

CIN
1. Green
2. LaFell
3. Ross (if he can get healthy & stay that way)
TE. Eifert (same comment as Ross) / Uzomah
Depth. Boyd/Malone

BAL
1. Maclin
2. Wallace
3. Perriman
TE. Watson/Williams
Depth. Campanaro/Adeboyejo

CLE

1. Britt
2. Coleman
3. Higgins/Ricardo?
TE. Njoku/?
Depth. LOL

Wow...didn't know that either.

I will keep saying this until it's proven otherwise...The Ravens can look like warm shit going into the season and play like warm shit...but for 2 weeks out of the year...they look like playoff contenders.

Agree, he should be #1 for BAL. Idk about that many targets his 1st yr unless Flacco really clicks with him early.

Yep... In this division with rivalries such as these, we have a guarantee of 2-4 "super bowls" every season.

Yep very solid group...each one has some questions to be answered, but right now the Steelers look very strong and agree with the ranking.

Questions.

PIT...will Bryant pick up where he left off? Who is CB3...some think Rogers has it, some think Smith-Schuster will take a fair amount of snaps there. Is there replacement for Green?

CIN...Is Boyd ready to take the WR2 job? Is Ross any more than a speedster? Can he take the NFL pounding?

BAL WR coorp just went from a weakness to above average...Who is the slot man? Is Perriman ready to be that stud they have been waiting for? What TE becomes Flacco's go to guy?

CLE...??? Really nothing is proven. Coleman I think showed he can be a legit NFL WR...is he a 2 or 3? Britt is on the back end of his career...on a team that would do good to win 6 games this season, is he riding out the string for a paycheck?

Probably not for the DIV, but for week 4 and 14...after watching Tomlin and Haley the last few years vs BAL...yes, I'm concerned already!
