I lived on an Arnie Palmer designed course that was in the mountains of Colorado. Wow. Couldn't get enough of that course and was content playing that again and again vs. driving to other courses.

His only work here in ATL that I'm aware of...Cherokee Run.

Hard as hell...hilly, tree lined and so many of those boulders were unearth during construction they became a feature...beautiful zoysia FWs though...perfect lie every time.

Ya know...I just realized that the list was Arnie's favorite courses to play...not his designs.

In either case...Yes...Cherokee Run is a really nice track...I try to get out there once a year...If I lived closer it would be a regular...if you post a score at or below your handicap there you've played a great round...plenty of room to land your tee ball, but the rough is penal and if you do spray it...the approaches are such that recovering for bogey, much less par is hard...bottomline...if you spray, you pay with dbl @ Cherokee Run.

Much love for Arnie

Very cool, I know Arnie had his hand in a few courses I play here in central FL, The Majors, which is as close to a home course as I get (15 min from the house), but many of the regulars tell me it has been a bit madeover from his original, and Spessard Holland, a beautiful par 68 on the beachside 20 minutes from the house, a great summer course as always a few degrees cooler right on the beach, and very well maintained, as are all 3 county facilities here.

Arnie is definitely one of the greatest ambassadors golf could ever have, he is the real deal.

Interesting he chose Pebble over Augusta as #1 on his list. Wonder why?

Like choosing filet over prime rib?

Both have so much to offer, but Pebble on the Cali coast............

I dunno, never played Augusta, but I know what Pebble has to offer, and it is spectacular.

That's a hell of a list. Hope I can play a few by the time I am 60.

I like how he threw Bay Hill on there. lol
