Binns is interesting because his biggest knock coming out was his lack of burst off the line. Something that he seems to have worked on a bit, as he is getting open in practice and in the first pre-season game, for limited snaps.
Both he and tate made some nice catches (even the one out of bounds for tate), and Binns continues to show why a lot of people are high on him: Big target, and he catches just about anything thrown his way. He's sure handed. While he may not be a burner, he can get open deep, and his route running has really improved, as noted by both Dalton and Gruden.
It'll be interesting. The Bengals could have gone after a bigger name F/A, but I think the track record of Gruden getting the most out of guys last year with virtually no time bodes well for him getting something out of the guys not named AJ Green with a full off-season to work with them.
I expect him to fill in the position part time, The bengals owe him zero, nada, zilch, he will share time with other receivers and he'll have a modest number of receiving yards.
