NEW YORK -- The New York Mets have not won back-to-back games since July 6-7. That can change Tuesday, when the Mets try to build on Sunday’s win in Detroit.

After a day off, the Mets now host the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game series.

Steven Matz (8-8, 3.63 ERA) opposes right-hander Zack Greinke (10-3, 3.62) in Tuesday’s 7:10 p.m. ET opener.

Greinke, who had been on the disabled list with a left oblique strain, last appeared for the Diamondbacks on June 28. He was 7-0 with a 2.26 ERA in his final nine starts before landing on the DL.

Matz is 1-7 with a 4.54 ERA in his last dozen starts.
