A new regime could make things better quickly or take time.

Sean McVay’s LA Rams got better immediately after taking over for Jeff Fisher.

Both teams do have certain similarities in that they had some top notch talent that was not being utilized properly, and they were not playing to their strengths.

I think we can say for certain that our defense is going to be better. They’ll be coached better, be in better positions to make plays, have better competition at just about every position, and have better schemes/gameplans.

That alone should make the games more competitive.

The offensive coaches might be better, or they might not. I dont know enough about Scott Turner to know if he’s a good o-coordinator. His father is.

The redskins do have more options on offense, which helps. They also are going to have competition for pretty much every spot, including last year’s positions of relative “strength:” wr and rb.

They have more depth along the oline, and a new training staff that absolutely has to be better than who they had.

What we dont know is if the offense will coalesce in the same way we pretty much know that the defense will.

On the other hand, the redskins were leading the eagles and giants games late in the fourth quarter last year as haskins was behind a injury ravaged line, in a new offensive system, in his first year in the league, with more limited weapons on offense.

I still predict right around 6 wins, but I bet they’re “in” 3 more until the end, and I doubt they get blown out at all this year.

That’s an improvement.

It may be an improvement, but it would be an unimpressive improvement, imo.

Actually, there is a good chance it will happen. There are over 90 companies working on a vaccine right now (they smell the money). Quite a few show significant promise. It is not unrealistic to think that we may have a vaccine by the end of the year. The problem will then be production. We will need around 500-750M units to reach the herd immunity. And much like the traditional flu, the vaccine will most likely have to be altered yearly to address the annual mutation.
they still havent found a vaccine for Hiv/Aids

IDK they are already pretty loaded with Ohio St players. Having a starter and backup QB as former Buckeyes...they will probably need to change their name to the Washington Buckeyes

I think the 5 Alabama players trumps the 3 Ohio State players. The team is trending in a different direction the past two years though.

Next year ..... Micah Parsons!!

Respecting the directive to veer away from the CV-19 conversation, I must insist upon careful acceptance and in some cases total rejection of a lot of the disinformation/ misinformation being posted on these threads regarding the same. Thanks to all.

It's impossible right now to project how many wins we will have when we don't even know at this point how many games we will be playing . . . . . if any.

It's never impossible to project, so project if you want to - no one will be harmed... severely. It's always impossible to project with certainty.

I won't guess, but state right here, right now that there are going to be zero games played in 2020.
Respecting the "keep it to sports" mood here, I will leave it at that.

Dad, something has gone horribly wrong and for the life of me I can't understand why you don't understand this.

I am fully aware of what’s going on but that doesn’t mean we will forever and ever be shut down . If we keep moving in the direction we are then we should be more then fine

The #1 key to getting back to work (not just in sports) is testing. Having talked yesterday to a microbiologist who works at Ft Detrick, the technology is improving - better and cheaper and quicker turnaround - all have to continue to improve and likely will. If the players (and all the NFL workers really) can be tested twice a week, maybe they can get it done. Obviously, it'll be a PR nightmare if the rest of the country isn't getting enough tests while the NFL is, so the country needs millions and millions and millions of tests. I think we'll be playing this year.

College football might be more problematic - especially for the smaller schools.

we are on pace to have more then enough tests from the data i have seen . i wouldnt see a need to test them twice a week either , maybe once but i guess you could start out twice a week and go from there .

JMO but most of the people are just getting sick and then getting better. The people that are dying is a small percentage u

The population in the US is 331+ million, number that have deceased is 61,288 that is 1.85 to the negative 4th power.

Death is always a tragedy. But that is a very small percentage. I know it doesn't seem so small if you lost a loved one but I can't help think this has been overblown. I think we should have taken the measures we did but I think it is time to start letting people go back to work.

Any particular reason you think once a week is enough?

We do NOT have anywhere near enough tests right now. The math is too simple for people to not understand that.

yes , because you can take some ones temperature for cheaper and if the have it too high you send them home supplementing that with a test once a week would be the way i would start it off . if the situation dictates a higher level of testing then you can implement it .

we did this at all the nuke plants i worked at and it worked pretty well as far as taking the temperature it limited the spread

business's by then will be in full swing . more knowledge will be gained , more tests will be available , that is why i keep saying something would have to go horribly wrong ( something more horribly wrong for the word splicers ) for us not to be doing close to what we normally do
