Josh Freeman - QB - Free Agent

The Tampa Bay Times reports the Raiders have "definite interest" in signing free agent Josh Freeman.
Freeman has ties to current Raiders OC Greg Olson and would be an upgrade over UDFA Matt McGloin as Terrelle Pryor's backup. Profootballtalk adds that Freeman could sign with a new team as soon as this weekend.

So Mike Silver is reporting that the Raiders, 49ers and Bills have expressed interest in Freeman, among other teams. Still looks like Oakland is the likely landing spot, as Silver said that Freeman would apparently start over Pryor.

Jay Glazer said this morning on air that "the team that has probably gone after Freeman the hardest" has been the 49ers.

49ers looking at Freeman. I think this is great if we can pick him up. Give us great insurance.

Making $9 Million this year, no too bad.

I really thought he would go to the Raiders with his familiarity with the offense and their uncertainties at the position, Vikings must have offered more. This doesn't bode well for Ponder.

??????

Did you really expect him to play well tonight? He got to the team last Wednesday and practices for less than two weeks. Anyone who expects him to learn a WCO system and run it successfully is just plain crazy.

This isn't Madden, you can't just insert into an offense without chemistry with receivers and complete crossing routes and deep breaking routes. You have to learn the receivers' pace, speed and route running to gain chemistry before you can complete these types of passes.

Again. Anyone who expects a guy to get signed, practice for less than two weeks, learn a WCO and have chemistry with his receivers needs to lay off the Madden. It isn't realistic at any level of football outside of high school.
