This "journeyman" is pushing Dak!

I admit I was basically totally wrong about this trade, and not just the details of Milton's age, it by all means sounds like a solid one for Dallas.

As we all know, he may of course crash and burn. There are no guarantees and in particular when accuracy is the main concern. But it was low risk high reward move for a team with no backup

What are you talking about? Journeyman QB? He was a rookie last year. Do you even know what a journeyman QB means? That might have been one of the best moves they have made in a few years. Read up on Milton a little because I'm guessing you don't even know who he is and you are just doing your typical bullshit. Regarded by many as having the potential to be a starter and at worst by most as a good backup, plus he is dirt cheap for 3 more years and cheaper than anyone they would have signed. Your obsession and inability to be objective makes all of your posts pretty much flushable. The Pats don't need him because they have a 22 year old stud first rounder and another backup they just signed. The Cowboys don't.

I'll tell you what. Find me a few articles not from Eagles fans saying it was a bad trade for Dallas. I believe they got Milton and basically swapped picks that are 46 spots apart? Cowboys Compensatory 5th (#171) for NE's 7th (#217)? Heck, this doesn't even preclude them from taking another QB if they wanted to, although I hope they don't because I am very high on Milton.

Maybe those articles are out there, but I just can't ever see him being a legit starting QB in the NFL. He was pretty bad in college until his 6th season. Sure, he's pretty athletic and has a cannon of an arm, but he's just one year younger than Hurts. Lol. If you've played 6 years in college and get drafted on potential, my guess you'll never reach it.

lol...this is a boat load of players this year.

Not sure I follow? Milton was a late round flyer based on his potential (athleticism and arm), not because of what he accomplished in college. He got benched twice in college. He has tools, but never has put it together.

COVID years
so many six year players.

also...with UIL, the QB position will be like minor league baseball going forward

Yeah I understand the COVID extra year. But the guys coming into this draft (Ward, Sanders, Dart, Ewers, Milroe etc..) none are 6 year guys.

If he can replace Cooper Rush well enough that's a win for the Cowboys. Nobody is considering him as a starter, 6th round pick who got moved in a small potatoes trade. I got to chuckle how Eagles and Cowboys fans like to :boink:each other.

@jarntt said there are people that regard him as a potential starter.

I think Jarntt is right here. It's a dart throw basically, but not a bad one. Yes he will likely never be more than a backup.

There are actually quite a few QBs coming out of college these days who transferred and had journeyman college careers due to NIL money and guys basically losing starting spots at key programs and transferring. It's become quite a game of musical chairs.

He has great upside, given his physical traits, but I watched him a bunch in college and he leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe it'll all click for him, who knows.
