not true.
DLaw was sour grapes because we werent gonna pay him. his time of getting paid extraordinary has passed. If we would have paid him again he would have been singing a different tune.

As a side note. Parsons doesnt have the ability to "leave". he is under contract.
Cowboys will resign him before start of season. but if they didnt. He wouldnt be able to "leave" until next season.

Oh I understand Parsons can't leave just yet... I just think Dallas isn't going places anytime soon. They way overspent on Dak and I don't think Dak is the answer, and you're stuck with him for 2 more years...

Course you could argue Seattle isn't doing any better, where D Law went.

IDK what's wrong with Dallas, maybe you die hard Cowboy fans can answer but what I seem to think is they got too popular. The headlines nationally endorse their success and in a slight thought, rest their euphemism on Dallas's laurels of yesteryear. Look , people and fans do it all the time, they talk about the glory too much, it raises expectations ( we do it ) . When you become the most famous franchise in sports, would it be less of an expectation of a Super Bowl that motivates you?

This article is almost 10 years old but it absolutely is spot on with what Schmoopy says.

The problem is Jerry.

It's certainly good to love your job, though some Cowboys fans would prefer a world where Jones wasn't making personnel decisions. And while Jones' son, Stephen Jones, appears to have a bigger role in assembling the roster, Jerry Jones has said previously that he loves being involved in that aspect of the job.

“We are not structured that way,” Jones said back in November 2012. “We didn't structure it that way with my ownership. There's no way that I would be involved here and not be the final decision-maker on something as important as players, and that is a key area. That's never been anybody's misunderstanding.

And he still refuses to change the way they are "structured".

The problem with the Cowboys is that Jerry is the living embodiment of doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

With all due respect and this isn't a shot at you because you wouldn't know, that is all 100% Bull Shit. There are more fans and more haters of them so of course you will hear more about them - there are probably more Cowboy posts on here from a particular Eagle fan than any one Cowboy fan. So, why people keep saying that I've never understood. Most players of today seem to have no clue about 5 years ago let alone 30. Sure they know of it, but it doesn't affect anything. Also, the idea that all Cowboys fans think they will win the SB every year is also BS. Check the Cowboys board. There is one problem with Dallas and it is unfortunately at the highest level and drives everything else: from putting marketing and making money above winning football games to putting personal reputation and desire to be seen as competent "football guys" and refusing to yield to actual football guys over building a winning football franchise. There is no long term plan. There is no vision for what type of team they want to be because the people in charge are incompetent. They simply seem to go year to year and coach to coach putting their finger in one hole at a time without any clue how to actually build a better dam. Now after all of their other missteps they've just flat out stopped spending money on free agents. The last big free agent they signed was Brandon Carr. That was March 13, 2012. Think about that. Thirteen years. One of the most important parts of roster development has been just completely ignored for over a decade. That's like playing with a handicap. The problem is these two and it their tragic flaw and it isn't going to change any time soon:

Here is an example. In what world does this make any sense whatsoever and these two dopes say things like this constantly.

Jerry does not understand how to win in the age of the salary cap.

He just traded a fifth round pick to the Pats for journeyman QB Joe Milton for example. He could easily have signed some journeyman QB to be a backup, and replace Cooper Rush, if he had only planned this out a bit.

He doesn't understand the value of rookie contracts, and of extending core players who are still on existing contracts to essentially pay them less by paying them sooner.

Micah knows who does understand though. He'll be wearing green soon enough once he busts out of his Texas prison.

What are you talking about? Journeyman QB? He was a rookie last year. Do you even know what a journeyman QB means? That might have been one of the best moves they have made in a few years. Read up on Milton a little because I'm guessing you don't even know who he is and you are just doing your typical bullshit. Regarded by many as having the potential to be a starter and at worst by most as a good backup, plus he is dirt cheap for 3 more years and cheaper than anyone they would have signed. Your obsession and inability to be objective makes all of your posts pretty much flushable. The Pats don't need him because they have a 22 year old stud first rounder and another backup they just signed. The Cowboys don't.

I'll tell you what. Find me a few articles not from Eagles fans saying it was a bad trade for Dallas. I believe they got Milton and basically swapped picks that are 46 spots apart? Cowboys Compensatory 5th (#171) for NE's 7th (#217)? Heck, this doesn't even preclude them from taking another QB if they wanted to, although I hope they don't because I am very high on Milton.

Woah, Joe Milton fan club head over here! You are right he’s a cheap rookie contract so that’s the upside there and it sounds like other teams wanted him. Not an older QB journeyman.

I guess they need to plan for Dak to miss some games?

Cowboys gave much less then the Eagles did for Pickett. It's a stash and see if you can develop him for a low cost risk.

Well that wasn't exactly a good deal, but I was happy to see Howie then flip Pickett a year later to the Browns.

I hope they are planning for the possibility, wouldn't you? He has had season ending injuries 2 of the last 3 years and he looks less and less mobile and will be 32 at the start of the year. I can't imagine he plays a full season the next four seasons that he is under contract for. I'm not even sure he sees all four years of the contract unless Jerry refuses to hear otherwise

Yeah, and another aspect of this move is that it does not preclude them drafting a guy, it just gives them a guy to compete for #2. I didn't realize they had nothing but Dak and Will Grier before this.
