That play was also irrelevant, game was over.

The game was in hand, and he took it away and lost it. Every play up to that point is IRRELEVANT.

Now quit defending him like you are his buttbuddy.

And quit looking like a butthurt crying baby. They lost. It happens. They will recover. Still one of the very best teams in all of football. It's not the end of the world. Find some class. Tip your hat. And move on.

I'm truly embarrassed for so many of you. You are just coming off like poor sports.

Half of being a fan is getting to criticize your team when they fail. Especially when they lose the SB like that.

There is a difference between criticizing and crying like a little bitch. You are going off the rails on half a dozen threads about it?

Not the best call. Not a great throw. Not a good play on Locketts part.

And so many other things went into the loss.

But outside of that just give some fucking props to the other guy for making a huge play. It wasn't thrown right to him. He made one hell of play. Stop taking it away from them. They won it fair and square. Just give them their due. Man up about it. Fuck.

Nope, you never did say it was the wrong call.

I understand why they did what they did and obviously everyone would rather take it back. That can't happen so I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

They were in 11 personnel. Pats were in goal line. It was a shitty match up. They were going to call a pass and if that wasn't there the clock would be stopped. They can run in their power set and take two stabs at the end zone having 1 time out left.

Bad idea? Well since it didn't work of course it is. Based on some flawed logic? Debatable. Their thought of having 3 shots at it instead of two if they ran it isn't the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

Some of it was on Wilson. Who, like Lynch, has proven to be clutch in game winning situations over his career. Some of it is on Lockett for not coming back on the ball strong. I get tired of seeing some of our shitty receivers not playing ball hard on every thrown ball. You can't sit back and wait for a ball like that in the NFL.

I just see the big picture. And also see how many other things lead to that loss. Then I tip my hat to the other team for a well played and deserved win.

If the shoe was on the other foot and it was Sherman that won the game on a last second pick you'd all be telling their whining fans to STFU and you know it. Most of us up here did just that against the 9'er fans last year on 'the tip'. Why not give this play the same respect and just be grownups about it?

How many things could have gone the hawks way if NE has to run their play from the 1? Safety? easily. Brady fumble trying to get back out of the end zone? possibly. The game wasn't over until the Hawks gave them a 5 yard cushion to kill the clock. The outcome of the game could have still been in doubt, the odds were slim, but the penalty handed the outcome to NE.

Wizard, not the best call ? Dude it was probably the worst call in Super Bowl history.... A slant route at the half yard line on 2nd down ? When you have arguably the best back in the NFL with time running out in the Super Bowl ?? Wizard common man... Look at the tweets from respected players around the league right now... THERE all scratching there heads like we are....

You aren't going to win this. The blind hatred for Bevell is insane around here right now.

Pete Caroll said that the play was his call. Even if Bevell did call it, PC deserves some of the blame for allowing it.

Did you not read the rest of it?

Listen to what Carroll said. Read it carefully. Those other players are not in the loop on those calls.

All I have said is spread the blame to ALL that deserve it. Carroll signed off on the play, for the reasons he has clearly outlined. Wilson made a poor choice and threw to the wrong side of the receiver given the coverage, and Lockett didn't fight well for the ball.

You are suggesting they should have called their TO there and subbed in their personnel. Remember the clock was running and they were in 11 facing goal line defense. I love Lynch as much as anyone else, but how often are you going to beat the other team in 11 v goal line in a running situation? No lead blocker and only 1 TE. Their only option to set it up the way they would have wanted for a run is to call their TO there. You might be able to get two tries off without a TO left, but that's always dicey.

Their metrics gave this play on that situation and Carroll signed off on it. It is what it is.

If they'd run the ball twice and hadn't got in there probably wouldn't have been enough time for another play, (26 seconds on the clock with 1 TO remaining on the pick play). A lot of people would say having 2 attempts when you could have had 3 attempts was bone-headed. Passing on that play should have allowed them to run, (or pass), on 2 more plays.
Good strategy, dubious play-call, bad result.

Why do you keep defending this? Are you related to the guy or something? They threw it right into the teeth of a defense that was thinking draw first. Of course it ended in a disaster. As usual, the idiot got too cute and this time it cost the Seahawks the Super Bowl. The play call shows that he has absolutely no concept of what our identity on offense is. For whatever reason you have a lot emotionally invested in a guy who's average when he's at his best and this is his low end (you know, shitting the bed when the Super Bowl is on the line).
