A little research can be your friend, Nate. Remember that Brad Richards is 31 years old. Amongst the forwards, only Iggy (34), Olli Jokinen (32), and Tom Kostopolous (32) are older. Tanguay is the same age.

As far as the defence is concerned, only former teammate Cory Sarich is older at 32.

And yes, Kipper is older at 34. That's it. Everybody else currently signed on the Flames is either the same age or younger than Brad Richards.

shit man, we both lose out. Sorry about making your team sound like an old folks home, just a slight exaggeration on my part.

Well, Richards is Sathers problem now. The Gomez, Drury, Redden, Holik, Rozsival, Kasparitus deals worked out just fine eh?

I'm not surprised that Richards chose NYR, heck it's a great city and there's a ton of things to do. If I wanted to go to a team that gave me the best chance to win another championship, though, I would have picked the LA Kings.

/Oh, I forgot about Daymond Langkow at 34 years of age as well in my earlier post...

Oh, and 2 out of 3 this week wasn't so bad either...but I'm sure you would like to face David Herndon more often ;)

I guess meaningless interleague games at home mean more to Philly fans than Boston fans. The Yankees had our number in 2004 also.

Edit: Maybe if we meet in the WS, you'll get to face players from our AAA team again.

:p...we all know how those years turned out

That AAA lineup consisting of Pedroia, Ortiz, Gonzalez, Youk, and Ellsbury sure looked good scoring 1 run combined in the first 2 games....some AAA you got there, buddy

I know Ortiz didn't play game 1, but he wouldn't have made much of a difference the way Lee was pitching

And maybe Cole won't go down with a freak injury so we can complete the sweep next time. (even though we couldnt hit Lester if he was throwing beach balls)

Oh, a Boston fan complaining about injuries and playing with a AAA roster? COME AHN MAN! Still a loaded roster that should beat many teams they play! But hey, you guys have this to remember, you both lost 2 of 3 to the Pirates. Good day sirs. :)

(And don't you dare take that away from us...basically all we have this season are those key wins)

EDIT: And also, you were playing a very injured Pittsburgh team. On our 5th catcher, and our best bat is still hurt. And the last game against Boston lost Tabata. So :P

Have you looked at the Rangers roster on CapGeek? They have a lot of work to do still. Sort of surprised they'd go through with the Richards thing knowing how much they still have to do to retain a worthy roster. Lots of RFAs and only 4 Dmen, 10 F, 2 G signed.

It looks like he wanted to play in the East.
Kings and Rangers offered about the same money (there are rumors that the Kings was slightly higher than NY but NY upped their bid to match)
Calgary and the Leafs offered more money
Brad Richards turns down Kings, signs with New York Rangers - latimes.com
Now we get to see Gagne's character and how he handles being the number two choice.

2003 went to 12 innings in game 7 of the ALCS. 2001 and 2002, meh, but 2004 we came back from 0-3 to win the pennant, the last 2 games in NY. Were the Phillies even IN the playoffs those 4 years? The AAA players I'm talking about were Reddick, Saltalamacchia, Sutton, McDonald, who weren't even starters last year. It didn't surprise me Lee won, Lackey lost a 2-1 game. let's see what happens in Sept and Oct. the Sawx did WIN 2 WS last decade to the Phillies 1 ya know. :blah:

Like I said, meaningless, interleague, regular season games. The Rams were supposed to kill the Pats in 2002, the Cardinals were favorites against the sawx in 2004, and Vancouver was supposed to cream the B's. Were did those trophies end up?
