The Kings had like 8 people meeting with him for an hour & a half. Everyone thinks the Rangers are a lock.

If Richards wants to win the Stanley Cup he'll sign with the Kings.

Think about it, Kopitar, Brad Richards & Mike Richards as their top 3 centers. There are a lot of teams in the league who don't even have 1 first line center. If Richards becomes a King they will be SCARY.

I don't know, the Rags have made the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 seasons, a guy like Richards could help them make some noise in the post-season.

Calgary is interesting. I heard they were going to make a pitch, but really didn't think they had the cap space to pull it off. Richards & Iginila would be quite a tandem. Of course I think Torts will win out just like Bob.

Let's say CGY offers $64M for 9 years, or cap hit of about $7M. But if last 3 yrs are "bogus" it could end up being 6 yrs for about $60M.

IF Richards ended up in CGY, plan would be to play him with Iginla and Tanguay. Iginla said to be active in lobbying Richards.

Try to move/bury guys like Hagman and Stajan to get some cap room would be the next thing to happen. Luckily, some contracts expire after this season (I'm looking at you Cory Sarich)
