This is bullshit. I'm sorry. The hit should not be illegal because Brown lowers his head at the last minute. I know the rule is the rule, but my point is the rule is broken. Burfict is going with the shoulder, and to the chest 100% (much like the Nelson hit in the Denver game on Owens). At the last minute, Brown lowers his head, and that causes the injury.Burfict should probably never travel to Pittsburgh without an entire team of body guards.

He wasn't that late, and it wasn't dirty. Brown lowered his head. Burfict has made some very poor decisions in the past. There's no denying those, and I'm not saying he's a clean player. He certainly crosses that line. But this hit is more about the rule than the hit. The rule is broken. His late, dirty hit gave them the win
He hit a defenseless reciever well after the ball went through his hands. That's exactly what the NFL is trying to clean up because of the concussion issue. It looked pretty bad to me but everyone is entitled to their opinion. The 3 game suspension was absurd but that to be penalizedHe wasn't that late, and it wasn't dirty. Brown lowered his head. James Harrison even said he thinks the hit should be legal. Brown lowered his head. Ike Taylor has even come out in support of Burfict.
When you reduce the target zone where defenders are allowed to hit, and then don't take into consideration that the WR's head may be lowered into that target zone, and still penalize the defender even though they did everything right is ridiculous.
You can argue that he may have been late, and I'm not so sure he was, but that's a better argument than if the hit was dirty because he ended up hitting Brown in the head. The only person to blame for that is Brown because he lowered his head into the target area.
When you look at it in slow motion, yes it makes it look worse. In real-time, hardly. If you go back and watch it, Browns head comes down at the last second, and that is what Burfict connects with. One can easily argue the impact of such a hit had he not lowered his head. From the angle, it looks like he would have barely hit his mid-section. Maybe spun him around, but Browns' head comes down and slightly to the side.He hit a defenseless reciever well after the ball went through his hands. Does this mean Pacman Jones will apologize?

I've watched the play a bunch of times in real time and in slo mo. Burfict isn't even in the frame when the ball goes through Brown's hands. If I saw it as a bang/bang play id give him the benefit of the doubt. That was a text book example of a defenseless reciever. The throw was high, the WR was vulnerable and he gave him a hard, high hit. When you look at it in slow motion, yes it makes it look worse. In real-time, hardly. Again, I can see the argument for a late hit. It certainly looks worse in slow-mo, but I argue the impact of the hit and the severity of the aftermath is because Brown lowered his head. Something, not just Burfict but, no defender has any control over.

Brown didn't "lower" his head. Have you ever jumped making any kind of an athletic play? Your body goes through a natural process as it comes back in contact with the ground. Even if Brown had made the catch - he was still in a defenseless position.
Look at the vine.I've watched the play a bunch of times in real time and in slo mo. Burfict isn't even in the frame when the ball goes through Brown's hands. Brown lowers his head as he sees Burfict coming.
I've jumped many times without my head coming down like that. Especially in football.
The rule is broken, and even some current and former Steeler players agree that the hit wasn't dirty, nor should it have been penalized.
Oh, you mean because it means you might be wrong? That's irrelevant.
Also, I showed where brown lowers his head as he sees Burfict coming. Burfict barely makes contact if his head doens't go down, which you said was natural. The Vine shows it was more "reactive" to a hit coming than that of a natural progression. Keep trying though. That's irrelevant.
