I saw the real live clip on Instagram. D. Morris posted it. They even played The Nature Boy's theme song as he entered the auditorium to address the players. It gave me the chills "WHOOOOO!!"

Who gives a shit what the people of Green Bay think? It will have nothing to do with the outcome on the field. Either the 49ers play well and win or they play poorly and lose.

The real story here is that Ric Flair was the inspirational speaker on the eve of a serious playoff game. I mean, I love the Nature Boy as much as the next guy, but is he really the guy we want to rally the troops the night before a big game?

He's giving them a pep talk, not marriage advice.

Not a big deal. The game will be determined on the field, not some tweet.

Appleton is a typical upper Midwest small town. It's likely not comparable to the places Davis has lived. He's entitled to his opinion but it's not like it's a bad place. I've been to much worse places in my travels.

Ric Flair was a great performer in his day (usually while jacked up on coke like so many others of his profession at the time), but he is a gigantic train wreck as a person. His problems are far beyond just marriage issues. Serious financial issues, drug use, personal relationships in disarray, huge amounts of back taxes owed, run ins with the law, etc.
I guess Rick James or Amanda Bynes weren't available for the prep talk?

We need someone inspirational from the Northwest like the Green River Killer or Kurt Cobain.

The guys on the team seemed to really enjoy his appearance so I think there is so merit to keeping guys loose and giving them something to smile about to ease some of the tension.
