"given the Rangers’ record it won’t be surprising to see them try to move payroll."

I think this is a misrepresentation. The Rangers are In rebuilding mode and have moved players to acquire prospects for rebuilding or to make room for prospects. A couple of years ago we even took on payroll to get a better return. To me this line is an example of lazy reporting.
With this ownership group, I will doubt if the even consider that.Depends on the length. Only way Boras agrees to anything under than 7 years would be with an AAV well over $30m. I can see them doing something like 8/225.

Because he had a bad day you want to pass on him?Rocker got rocked in the college world series final. If I can't get Lieter, I don't want Rocker.

It is probably the only game he has pitched this year with so few days between starts.Rocker got rocked in the college world series final. If I can't get Lieter, I don't want Rocker.
Rocker's 3-year college career: 28-9 record, 2.79 ERA, 232.1 innings, 163 hits, 315 SO, 0,986 WHIP & 12.3 SO9Rocker got rocked in the college world series final. If I can't get Lieter, I don't want Rocker.
Doubt seriously KC will see Rocker at # 7 pick.
Know what you mean but what a great problem to have.Rocker's 3-year college career: 28-9 record, 2.79 ERA, 232.1 innings, 163 hits, 315 SO, 0,986 WHIP & 12.3 SO9
Leiter's 2-year college career: 13-4 record, 2.08 ERA, 125.3 innings, 53 hits, 201 SO, 0.844 WHIP & 14.4 SO9
if both are there at #2 the only problem i would have is deciding which one to take. either one would be a future #1 starter for this team

Rangers are almost assured Leiter or Rocker at #2.
