Folty/Allard/Dunning will be your starters. Afternoon game on Thursday.

As we hit July, there will be a lot going on with our beloved Rangers. Calhoun has already gotten hurt again unluckily, the draft is a matter of days away, El Bombi and Gibby are our likely All Star participants, and the trade deadline closes out the month. Plus whatever randomness happens, as is the norm.

In my humble opinion, Gibbs should be the starter in the all star game.
Regarding Calhoun, hope he heals well and good luck in MLB but he needs to move on. The OF does not make room for him and he is not the best at DH.
The draft is wide open. Hope we get pitching we badly need.

Gibson certain has the credentials to be named starter.

2021 MLB Predictions

538 currently projects the Rangers to finish 66-96 and the 5th worst record in MLB. I have to think that if/when we trade Gibby (and/or others) that will affect the end result accordingly. Still hoping we get a top 3 pick next year.

Trade Deadline candidates on the rise

Joey Gallo, RF, Rangers
Gallo is just 10-for-40 (.250) over the past two weeks, but he’s made the most of those hits, belting five home runs with 12 RBIs in 12 games. The 27-year-old has also drawn 11 walks during that stretch (tied for the second-most in the Majors), giving him an impressive .412 on-base percentage and 1.062 OPS. Gallo is earning $6.2 million this season and is arbitration-eligible for one more season, giving him strong trade value for the rebuilding Rangers.
Potential fits: Athletics, Cardinals, Mets

Kyle Gibson, RHP, Rangers

Gibson is 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA in his past two outings, lowering his ERA to an AL-best 2.00 in 15 starts. The 33-year-old is averaging six innings per start this season, his 90 innings placing him in the AL’s Top 10. Gibson is in the second year of a three-year, $28 million deal, making him the highest-paid player on the rebuilding Rangers. With a $9 million salary this season and a $7 million salary in 2022, Gibson is a tremendous value for a club looking to add to the rotation.
Potential fits: Angels, Indians, Reds

Interesting that both have in-division teams as potential fits.

It is hard to believe that they couldn't see more potential fits for Gibson than those three.

Cleveland I understand, but the Angels certainly don't make sense and there a few teams who would benefit more that the Reds.

No surprise. I never pay much attention to what these guys say. It is all opinions anyway and to much to work out on agreements for them to know. Kinda like draft picks. Best guess.

Does Gibson fetch us a big haul? How big? He should.

give me leiter and give us a haul for Gibson and I’d be a lot more optimistic about this franchise going forward.

We don't talk to strangers. LOL Just kidding.
If we get a good haul for Gibson and Leiter we should be on the right track.
