I saw a comment on Reddit last night that said 6/150 was reasonable for Joey. I don't think there's a chance in hell 6/150 gets anywhere close.
You know Boras is going to ask for something north 30 million a year.

Depends on the length. Only way Boras agrees to anything under than 7 years would be with an AAV well over $30m. I can see them doing something like 8/225.

Personally, I think it is a combination of simply going back to what was natural for him before listening to people telling him what his hitting approach should be, and the sticky stuff crackdown. His numbers started to improve about six weeks ago or so, but not to the extent as they have this last week or so.

If they do make some changes as to what shifts are allowed who knows what his upside will be.

"For hitters, all this suddenly acquired extra movement is catastrophic. What was an elite spin rate in 2018 is now average. The added spin means that the average four-seam fastball drops nearly two inches fewer this year than it did in ’18, according to Statcast, making it appear to hitters as if it’s rising. So far in ’21, facing fastballs down the middle thrown at 2,499 revolutions per minute or fewer, hitters have batted .330. Facing fastballs down the middle thrown at 2,500 rpms or more, they have batted .285. And the percentage of high-spin fastballs has increased threefold since ’15."

I wonder how many more were effected by the sticky stuff crackdown. How about Odor,Judge, Rendon,Trout etc.
Not sure if any and really don't think so.
I think Benny is right on. Joey finally worked out a few kinks and got back to his old ways.

Certainly would explain Kyle Schwarber's hot streak
