Without Dalton's play against Detroit, we lose that game. Pretty easily. Heck, if Stafford wasn't just missing his open receivers deep, we probably still lose that game.
Without Dalton's play against the Jets, we probably win 24-9 or something like that.
Not only do we not look impressive (and that's what it was) against Detroit, but the Jets game is a game we should've pulled out that we did. We're 6-2, but little about the play of this team would say we have even a remote chance to compete with Denver, KC, or Indianapolis for the #1 seed. Not in our wildest dreams.
Part of being a quality team is being able to win in a bunch of different ways. If Detroit is healthy on offense they'll score points and move the ball on anyone. You need a good game from your QB or some skill position player to overcome it.
That was a quality win against a very good opponent on the road.
If Atkins were healthy I'd give them a very legitimate chance against KC or Indianapolis.
