He definitely had a bad game. But he definitely had two excellent games leading up to last night. Keep the faith, J.

He had some bad throws. He also had the team in position to win the game. Twice. And twice, Sanu dropped passes that would have led to points.

His preliminary grade was -1.4.......not nearly as bad as I thought......there are some here who are probably disappointed by that grade.....

He did make some bad throws, but NONE due to weak arm. He was behind Jones on the INT for the TD.

He waited too long on the INT with Green, but Green had a really good shot at breaking that INT up, except he went OCHO on Andy when the ball didn't get right to him. His body language SUCKS right now. It's almost as if he's pouting on the field at times.

Dalton had a few really, really good throws into tight coverage. Sanu's INT was perfectly thrown, as was his catch in the 4th qtr, or OT it might have been, to Sanu on 3rd down for a 1st down.

Sanu, Green, and Gresham all had multiple drops that hit them SQUARE IN THE HANDS!

You can fault Andy for several things, but this isn't even a talking point if Green catches the damn ball, Gresham doesn't hold on Jone's touchdown, or Sanu catches the damn ball that went for an INT.

What about the 6 games prior to that? And the 2 seasons overall including the playoffs prior to that?

What is this faith based off of? 2 games?

Look at the PFF numbers, rey. They don't totally support your narrative this time. There's plenty of blame to spread around.

Oh give him a break... He's been waiting three weeks to make an anti-Dalton post. :yahoo:

Dalton made two bad throws to the sideline last night. He said the one near the goal-line slipped. That can't happen.

I was encouraged that he didn't appear to be hesitant. Even after the turnovers he still kept pressing the ball down the field and he was throwing hard over the middle. These are things he never used to do when he was struggling. If he continues to be aggressive, he'll continue to have a chance to be a good qb.

Why? He never gives anyone a break. He's an asshole.

I wouldn't dare to say Dalton had a good night. But considering the two horrible throws, -1.4 isn't so bad, and actually suggests that other than those two throws he had an ok game.

He also had them in position for the go ahead score two times late in the game:

- Pass that Sanu bobbled and was picked would have had them at the 10 yard line with 9:00 to go in regulation.

- Sanu dropped pass in OT that would have put them within range for Nugent. They elected to punt after the next play was incomplete to Green. Punt from 39 yard line instead.

And the TD that was called back for holding on Gresham.

While Andy didn't play great, he did enough at times to put them in position to win.

The throw to Sanu was a beauty of a throw beind one defender, in front of the other...it was a catch for just about any other WR...

The PFF numbers absolutely support my position. He went from +2.9 to +5.7 to a -1.4. The 2 weeks prior he was a +0.6 and a -0.6. And before that a -3.0, -3.2, and a -1.9.

Maybe you think that -1.4 belongs with the spectacular games he had the last couple of weeks, but reality is that it fits in much closer to 5 weeks prior to that. I'm not buying the "keep the faith" based on a 2 really good games.

Those are the numbers.

Now for what we saw. I don't remember every bad throw down the field, but just read the game thread during the span from the 4th quarter to the end of the game. Every downfield throw he had was sailing well passed his receiver and at least three sailed out of bounds, including a fade into the endzone and on 2nd down prior to the safety.

The last 2 weeks he's had tremendous protection. Yesterday, albeit it was probably some of the worst all season, but he regressed. He took sacks when he could have thrown the ball away. The safety play was just horrible recognition of the pressure coming.

I just don't see what this "faith" is based off of.

I did avoid posting some especially last week. People were talking about the #1 seed and how that was the real Dalton and everything else was an anomaly. Wasn't worth the time arguing against peoples' emotional highs and lows.

His inaccuracy downfield reared itself again. I saw a more hesitant player than the "confident" player we saw the last 2 weeks. And a few days ago I had even speculated on here that the "confidence" he was showing may have been due to him being on fire and hitting on all cylinders. Maybe not as bad as we've seen this season, but I didn't see the Dalton from the previous 2 weeks either.

2 to 3 good games is not enough people... When the pressure comes the dude SUCKS!!!!! he continues to take sacks in the red zone and doesnt recognize pressure very well.. He is a good QB he will NEVER BE GREAT! PROMISE!

Btw, he was -1.7 passing, tied for his 3rd worst passing game this season out of 9 games.

4 turnovers. I don't care who's hands they were off or how it wasn't his fault..

We were in position to win because Miami sucks.

They dont suck at all lol....remember Coyle knows OUR ENTIRE TEAM so he knows exactly what to do to Andy and where to attack the Oline....

You do realize that when most QB's get pressured/hit they don't do well. What has always been the book on Brady? Hit him early, and he gets rattled. What's the book on Manning? Hit him early, and he doesn't do as well...this is not just related to Andy.

The Redzone sack did not matter. It was 3rd down, and an incompletion or a sack results in the same thing: Field Goal attempt. I could only agree with you if it knocked them out of FG range, but it didn't.

You don't have to be "great" to win a SB with a guy. He just has to be good, and get hot at the right time. Just look at Flaco.

You are spinning your wheels with him. He'd rather see the Bengals lose with Dalton sucking than see the Bengals win with Dalton doing well.

Sad, really.
