this is accurate. Washington is 3rd in margin of victory (30.5).. So the schedule is bad, but they are beating these teams like a playoff contender. it is not like they are undefeated with a bunch of tight games.

I don't argue they have beaten up some teams, but 7-2 Utah is their signature win. It took a punt return in the 4th quarter to win by 7. This is a Utah team who lost to Cal and barely beat teams like Oregon State (19-15) and UCLA without Josh Rosen (52-45).

They had to go to OT to beat Arizona, who just lost to Washington State by like 70 points. If they had smacked Utah and everyone else on their schedule -- I'd be agreeing with you. They are benefiting from a Pac-12 that has struggled across the board.

If they go undefeated -- they absolutely deserve the 4th spot. IMO, the game against Bama will be very, very ugly though.

So this is the signature win ? Well let's examine this team's body of work to determine just how good they are shall we !

Southern Utah - 5-4, big sky conference
BYU - 5,4
San Jose St. - 3-7, 2-4 Pac12
USC - 6-3, 5-2 Pac12
California - 4-5, 2-4 pac12 (they loss to this team)
Arizona - 2-7, 0-6 Pac12
Oregon St. - 2-7, 1-5 Pac12
UCLA - 3-6, 1-5 Pac12

Oh well ! So much for beating Utah !
LSU's signature win??? Miss st, at home???
Florida's sig win??? Kentucky, at home???
Auburn's sig win??? LSU at home, who has beaten nobody????

After seeing all them cupcakes score so many points against that Washington defense any one of these teams would run all over Washington's defense. While their defenses would shut Washington down.

I have a feeling you won't have to worry about bumping this thread. If Washington gets in, it is almost certainly going to go against Bama in the semi-final. They predicted around a 2 TD spread in that game and it will only go up, unless Washington puts a beating on USC like Bama did.

Plus, while I love Washington's QB, I think he'd have culture shock when he sees the amount of pressure Bama will put on him, as UW hasn't played anyone even remotely in the ballpark of Bama defense.
Washington leads the PAC in points allowed.

It's post like this that explain why you and I get along fine. You're less of a homer than I am.

It is just the truth. I'm a die hard Michigan fan, but I'm much more of a die hard football fan, in general. I'd put UM in the conversation for one of the spots in the 2-5 range, but no one has the fire power Bama has defensively.

They literally have 5 star recruits in situational roles on defense. It is absurd the talent they can throw at a team. And with their depth, they are able to keep them fresh.

Don't be stupid. The one thing you can say about those "cupcakes", especially the ones in conference, is they all play decent offense, for the most part. Washington ranks top 10 in scoring defense.

Alabama would skull drag the Huskies around the field like they were a Pop Warner team !

Well Washington went on the road and beat a ranked team in conference. That is solid work. There will always be a bad game or 2 throughout the season. That goes for every team. Not like I am going to say Bama shouldnt be ranked because Ole Miss gave them a game.

Against a bunch of teams with no defense !
Hasn't someone pointed out that the Pac has more teams in the top 50 scoring defenses than the SEC?

A defense is supposed to stop the other team from scoring.

I have no issue with Washington being ranked and even said they should be #4. I just said it is going to be an ugly game if they face Bama in the CFP.

Not to kick conferences when they are down -- but the Pac-12 and Big 12 are absolute disasters this year.

After this weekend, I'm more intrigued by our matchup than at any time this season. It's going to be one hell of a game. I cannot wait.
Bama is loaded, but I'm not so sure they're invincible. Their pass defense still has some holes. If you have an offense that can spread them out, I think the run game could work.

While I would rather not jump on the Alabama bandwagon -- I would have to agree with this. This is why Vegas has Bama as a 2 TD favorite for the line if Bama/Washington happens.

In Washington's defense -- Bama is also favored by 7-8 points against any of the other teams (Michigan, OSU, Louisville, Clemson)

I've never seen so many whiny cvnts as I've seen in this thread. Rutgers was going bowling year in and year out when Washington scheduled that home & away series. Its not Washington's fault that some dildo fvk B1G team cheated their asses off while winning the Fulmer Cup and then went into a tailspin.
