Well, one is most likely a first rounder. And the other should get drafted, so whatever.....

Oh. So they should be on the Thorpe semi-finalist list they just put out, right? I see your Free Safety, but don't see any CB's on there. Must have left them off by accident.

How about this -- look at the CB's on Michigan and tell me if you think Washinton's are better. And I don't even say UM has the best CB duo and we have a returning all-American in Jourdan Lewis and 3 year starter who will get drafted in Channing Stribbling.

I don't necessarily disagree with this, but I also don't believe you punish a team for taking care of business. This is a mediocre year of football, in all honesty. PSU might be a top 10 team, they might not be. However, when can you ever think of a team going 10-2 in a good conference with a top 3-4 win on their resume that didn't end up in the top 10, or at least damn close?

That's a solid point !

47 ! Know what this number represents ?

That is the number of other teams that ALSO beat all the teams that Washington beat this season!

How many seasons have we had teams like Ohio state and Florida State who we knew were good because we have seen them play get into the top five even though their schedule lacked many quality wins? How many times have a Baylor And A&M been ranked really high with great offense and nothing for defense? You can take their ( Huskys) sos into consideration but they are a quality team with a top offense and top defense. They can only play who they have scheduled.

You may be right about that but that's not the point though.

Why Top 5 ? Almost 50 other teams have beaten the same teams this year as has Washington.

So in reality, they've accomplished no more than what 47 teams have done also.

That's a lot of losses from their opponents !

They have accomplished being unbeaten and looked good doing it. Did those 47 teams lose a game yet? So who belongs? Ohio State? They lost to a team who lost to Pitt who lost to Oklahoma State. Say what you want but they lost and the team that beat them lost. Once you lose you can't put down a team who hasn't.

Plenty. So this is nothing new.

Speaking of plenty....

6 of the 9 teams Washington beat this year......have a losing record !

of the other 3....

one has 3 loses inside the conference, the other has 2 and finally...

The final opponent they've beaten with a winning record is a Sunbelt team ! :dhd:

Not true at all. FSU went to the CFP in 2014 due to being the unbeaten defending champ, a scenario that would play out that way no matter who the team was. OSU went due to a decisive road win vs. top 10 MSU and blowout CCG win over top 15 Wisconsin.

What other years are you even talking about?

No one plays the same caliber of teams this isn't the NFL. If the patriots played San Jose state are they a worse team than Penn state who beat Ohio State?

You must be a UM fan and not a CFB fan

I don't think some are getting the point in all of this.

Washington beat everyone they faced this year. That's great and they should be proud of that fact. Good for the Huskies, they took care of business !

The problem is they are being considered for a slot in the playoffs. When one actually examines their body of work though it tells the true story.

It's the inconvenient truth....they haven't played anybody of note all season.

They beat a bunch of cupcakes that 47 other teams also beat.

So tell me, why do they get so much credit for that ?

Yes it does. If Alabama players were suddenly the Huskys and played their schedule they would also be undefeated. Are they somehow less of a team because the teams they beat werent rated as high?

I used to use UNLV in CBB as the analogy. They went undefeated in the Big West league or whatever it was at the time. They won a NC. Beating bad competition does not prove you are not a great team, just doesnt prove you are one either

No, that really doesn't make sense. Alabama players aren't the Huskies. They're the Tide and they've earned their #1 spot through thoroughly dominant play against a much tougher schedule than Washington. You can't just make up hypotheticals as a reason a team should be highly ranked. If Washington wins out, it's unlikely that they'll be left out unless Colorado, Utah and Wazzou completely fall off the map and become unranked. However, at this point in the season, it's not hard to difficult against them having a top 4 resume.
