No, but their SOS should be punished. That cuts both ways. Some teams schedules get more difficult as the season progresses, some get easier. Hocutt said committee members liked and rewarded the SOSs TO THIS POINT of many teams as the reason for their rankings higher than others. (A&M for sure). If they are crediting them having a good SOS early in their schedule, they should punish them for having a bad one later in the schedule. Can't have it both ways. Let me rephrase that, you shouldn't be able to have it both ways. The committee seems to change criteria emphasis frequently.
This still doesn't change the fact that they'll be 10-2 playing in the 2nd toughest conference in the country, and they'll very possibly have the highest-ranked win of any team in the nation. That is the resume of a top 10 team, in any season.

You are high as giraffe pussy on that Washington kush if you believe that.

The pirate would get housed by both of these teams. Nothing in their recent games say they are any better than the team that lost to Boise and Eastern.

This is exactly why it's hard having this discussion when you obviously didn't watch either the Eastern or Boise State games. If you truly think A&M, Auburn or LSU would house us then you need get out more.

LOL, please name those 5 teams and don't say Bama.

Seriously...what is y'alls best win against another conference...Stanford over K-state or Cal over Texas...news flash, both of those teams are 3-3 in their own conference....which won't have a playoff team.

Alabama, Auburn, A&M, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Tennessee and Georgia all, when healthy, would give USC all they wanted....half of those teams each have a better OOC win than any team in the PAC-12.

I don't think you can hang your hat on the conference schedule part. We all know that conference schedules are real imbalanced. Iowa was 12-1 last year in the same conference and we saw how it turned out for them and the team that beat them in the CCG. It was Fool's Gold. Looked like the real stuff but wasn't. You guys were far better than those two but pulled a brain fart similar to what you did with Penn State this year. I think you are giving Penn State way too much credit for beating you guys. It had more to do with tOSU misfiring than it did them firing.

LOL, your the dumbass that claimed your team treated Eastern like an exhibition game. LOL, if the Pirate is treating any opponent like an exhibition that says all that needs to be said.

Or was I supposed to be impressed by your throttling of winless Arizona...I was about as impressed by that as I was Michigan laying 78 on Rutgers.

I don't necessarily disagree with this, but I also don't believe you punish a team for taking care of business. This is a mediocre year of football, in all honesty. PSU might be a top 10 team, they might not be. However, when can you ever think of a team going 10-2 in a good conference with a top 3-4 win on their resume that didn't end up in the top 10, or at least damn close?

Now you just hold it right there uncle daddy. The PAC realises it's fighting an uphill battle. The time zone thing, no big contract with ESP1N, not many trailer parks in the PAC territory, no Waffle Houses and most of the people out west have most of their teeth ... that and nobody out west gives two shits about Andy Griffith. With that said they play some quality football on the west coast.

I'm sure he will name ATM, who had to go OT to beat FUCLA

Meh...UCLA has been in every game they have played this year...which is more than you can say for USC. I might want to actually beat them before I started shit talking them if I were a USC fan that still had them on the schedule.

Well there you go. What is y'alls best win against another conference. I know Bama beat USC quite badly and I have said many times before that Bama is the class of the SEC.

I don't agree with him doing but it has paid off throughout the season with our lineup and doing more than passing the ball 70 times a game. Who says I'm asking anyone to be impressed with our victory? All I'm doing is proving that you're too ignorant to have an opinion when talking about anything outside your little bubble especially if you think those 3 teams would run us out of the building.

I've seen all of the top teams a bunch. The very subjective eyeball test puts them at #2 in my rank. Their level of execution, from the routes they run to Browning's passes to their DL penetration to their coverage, they seem to be the complete package. I also put a ton of faith in the background of coaches, and Petersen has earned all the respect in the world.

I'm also sure some people have said it, but Clemson was a routine field goal away from losing to a cupcake. Hell, we were losing in the fourth quarter to Georgia State.

I don't think a team should be punished for "taking care of business" either. But, the committee doesn't seem to see it that way. So far they are indicating what good teams you play throughout the schedule is as important as overall wins if not more. i.e. A&M over Washington and ahead of tOSU and Louisville. Washington is getting beat all to hell because Stanford and Oregon suck this year. In other years, those would be great wins for the Huskies. They are taking care of business which is all they can do. Not their fault a lot of the PAC 12 sucks big green donkey dicks this year.

I think you are correct. Overall, this is looks like a mediocre year in CFB. And Penn State may end up being top 10. But there are a bunch of others that could be as well...and they look alot like Penn State. Maybe November will separate contenders from pretenders.
