I am beginning how far they would go to defend their beloved Tide. It is kind of scary.

Even Husky fans remove the blinders, know the difference between what is right and wrong, and put their dignity above their football team and players.

1 Yes, every one does have an opinion.

2 Athletes pro and collegiate have a responsibility to their fans, Universtiy, team mates, and coaching staff to not make these type of racist comments on a social network type of stage.

3 he made the comment public. Now it is everyone's business. Not just the coaching staff.

4 of course it is much ado about nothing to you. I wouldn't expect less.

1. Thats my point entirely, he has his opinion and it may closely mesh with how he is raised. Never claimed he was right or wrong, its just his opinion.
2. Which is why I cmmented its a problem for the coach to deal with at this point.
3. Yeah, twitter is public, so what. Racism exists and getting your panties bunched over it only further enhances its hold.
4. So you think I am racist by this comment apparently, either that or a big homer. Neither of which I fall in to. I see this as a heat of the moment exchange and nothing more. Much ado about nothing.

Yet rap music exists and rappers are idolized and the wording content of many songs is no less offensive. Gotta put this in context and to me this is a heat of the moment exchange between him and someone. We've all made comments we later regretted, I think this is one for him to reflect on in the future.

Like I said BBB.

It is not an issue for me personally. I don't care what he thinks. So my panties are still unbunched thank you very much.

However, I know when I see blind homerism when a fanbase rushes to the defense of this nonsense.

If he was White player and said anything close to that the world would explode. Double Standards work for people sometimes.

So now we should expect our teams athletes to be more on par with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne and not Peyton Manning and Russel Wilson?

Rappers act ignorant to sell records to ignorant Americans.

Athletes are role models whether they accept the role or not. A responsible parent doesn't wish their child to follow in the social footsteps of fitty cent, but rather Michael Strahan or Barry Sanders.

I am not rushing to his defense by any stretch. I find what he said offensive personally, I have just seen things like this happen befoe and its usually a exchange that got out of hand. He will be reprimanded if not already having been by this point. Certainly not the worst thing anyone has ever said on twitter.

It was about this time last year when johnny banned himself from twitter.

People need to keep their drama off of social media. I do t tweet my bullshit, nobody cares and I'm an old fart anyway.
