I'm bored, so I'm going to be starting some threads tallying the top 25-man roster for each team in their history. For these threads, to be eligible to play for a team, you had to play 5 years (6 seasons) on the team. For example, I'd love to pen Nap Lajoie in as the Phils' starting second baseman, but alas, he played for the Phils from 1896-1900; 4 years and only 5 seasons. I'll have to settle for Chase Utley. I will obviously have the eight starting positions, 5 starting pitchers, 8 relief pitchers including a set-up man and a closer, a backup middle infielder, a backup corner infielder, a backup catcher, and a backup outfielder.

Things like era played in and possible steroid use will be taken in to consideration for my list, but it should be known I'm pretty lenient on steroid use for reasons I won't explain here. Furthermore, if you are a fan of a team and you feel I got it wrong, please let your voice be heard. I will be going in alphabetical order. Without further ado, let's begin!

Notes
  • I will look at their contributions for all their seasons and factor it into their team. For example, even though Joe Torre spend a large number of his years with STL, his numbers with STL will factor into him getting put on Atlanta's team. Obviously this means that some players will overlap teams.
  • I will have a DH for AL teams.
  • I will list all teams in this thread.
  • I will go alphabetically by city name, not team name.
  • I will NOT factor in seasons played for the Federal League, NA, American Association, etc. Only NL and AL league stats will be factored.
NOW, without further ado...

I think Bedrock is better anyway. He just doesn't have the saves because the Braves weren't very good when he was there

Might I make some suggestions.

1 Do one team a day to draw out the discussion.

2 Change your rosters.
8 relievers is too many for a lot of teams. A number of teams are going to have a starting staff full of pitchers that threw a high percentage of complete games.
I would go with a sixth starter listed as a long reliever. A fifth outfielder. Five relievers and make the final spot as an utility spot. Whomever is best for that team be it another pitcher or another bat.

Yeah, I had never heard of him, but looking at his stats, he at least has half the equation- quantity

Great idea. 8 relievers is too fucking many. We're going to have guys like fucking Antonio Bastardo making the team otherwise

Yes, I disagree.

Do you have a problem with Mormons?
I think it's close, and if you go by peak years, it's definitely Murphy. But outside of 5 seasons, Murphy was very pedestrian. He had 10 seasons with a WAR under 2 (granted a lot of those seasons were with few PA's). Justice had a better OPS, wOBA, and wRC+. I think it's very close. I might give it to Murphy because of peak years on second thought. I think I just have it in for him because a lot of people want him in the HOF

Yes. Multiple fucking wives? Showboats- it's hard enough to get steady pussy from one girl in the civilized world

Actually now I'm starting to come around to your thinking. It depends on your criteria I guess. Is there a way to only show Justice's Atlanta stats?

Yes, go to Fangraphs, select the Braves, and then select outfielders. But actually, the criteria for this list was looking at all their stats, not just the stats on the team I selected them for
