My thoughts exactly...I said at the end of the season that he would go to an east coast contender. MRS. Williams had a whole lot to do with this selection, methinks...

I'm forever grateful that JW brought the Cup close enough to me for me to see it up close in 12 and 14...

Went for a lot cheaper than I thought he would. Kings essentially replaced his possession play with a brute in Lucic who is 7 years younger for $50,000 more.

Best of luck to Williams, he was a class act and delivered in LA. Unfortunately I have to wish he doesn't win a Cup for at least 2 years since I hate the Capitals.

Williams and Kopitar are not related IMO. When Lucic was acquired that spelled the end of Williams regardless.

Also I think Kopitar will take a long term friendly deal.

Supposedly 1 year/$800,000. Now living in NY, that is like minimum wage.

Hope Vegas was worth it, had he not gotten in trouble I'm pretty sure he could have commanded at least $2 million, maybe more, in the traditional UFA market.

It is a two way deal ($575,000 NHL salary/$100,000 AHL salary). With the loss of Berube last week, I think they felt they needed a veteran presence.

Also why Emery was signed to a PTO, Patrik Bartosak is injured and out at least a month and Houser needs some support (Houser was born in Youngstown OH, where I lived from 1975-1986. Didn't know that but nice to see someone from that neighborhood chasing that professional dream).
