I'm all for arson but showing two murders on screen is where I draw the line.

Call me a blind AEW optimist but I genuinely feel that the company is starting to hit their stride. The Page/ Swerve feud, Danielson as champion, Mox's new faction, Richoet/Opseray on the horizon.. perhaps even Shane McMahon at some point .
It's not reflecting in the ratings yet but when WWF started their come back in 97 it took a half a year or so look before the uptick even gradually became noticeable.

I think a lot of what happened with the WWF in 97 was that it was unpredictable and you wanted to keep watching to see what was going to happen next. One of the problems AEW has is it is too formulaic and outside of maybe a few wrestlers, people feel like it's not a must watch because you can usually figure out what's going to happen each segment.

Rumors going around AEW and Fox are working on a separate TV deal, a new show called "Shockwave".

Miro requested his release from AEW.
Could've been a lot bigger than what he ended up being but sadly, other factors kept hindering that from happening.

Sucks that Briscoe had to take the pin on Collision. I feel like if they keep beating him, any reaction the fans will have to him will slowly erode, a lot like what's happened to FTR. Wouldn't have hurt to have OC get pinned by Big Bill instead. Since the tag division has been in the tank lately, I'd like to see either O'Reilly/Briscoe or the Outrunners get the tag belts to freshen things up a bit.

Definitely some well wishes being sent to him. Hopefully he takes his time and makes a full recovery.

AEW TV deal finally announced with WBD.

Looks to be a 3 year deal with a 4th year option, 170 mil per year. Dynamite and Collision will now simulcast on Max.

Noticeably, Rampage wasn't mentioned in the release. Looks like the rumors of it getting axed and replaced by a show being shopped to Fox could be true

Great news. I use Sling TV during the football season and then pause it during the off-season. Between this and the Raw/Netflix deal I at least have the option to watch weekly wrestling the other half of the year.

I'm curious if the Fox deal is for the broadcast network or FS1. The former world be huge for AEW in terms of exposure.

There's also ambiguity in the reporting on Max and the PPVs. If the PPVs are on Max at a reasonable price pt that's a complete game changer.

Also most importantly, AEW's been operating in the red for 5 years then the Outrunners show up on Collision and a few months later the company is in the black.

Same exact story as every territory they worked in from 82-87. When do we start mentioning them with Hogan and Austin from a business perspective?

Update: New report says its actually 185 mil per year

My girlfriend is thinking about dumping DirecTV and doing YoutubeTV and Fubo during baseball season since it's one of the few carriers to carry the Orioles. Glad that they're going to be putting up the older stuff to go back and watch. I got my girlfriend into wrestling last year at a New Japan event and she's been watching AEW and a little New Japan ever since, so she's interested in watching some of the beginning shows.
I would assume it'd be on FS1. Fox wasn't happy with Smackdown numbers, I can't imagine how they'd feel with AEW's type numbers on network television. That's why I'm thinking FS1 would be a much safer bet.
I don't remember but are the older PPV's going to MAX as well or is it just going to be the PPV's from 2025 on out that'll have the option of being watched on MAX?

WWE did some excellent numbers but Fox was disappointed with the returns compared to the contract they gave them . I think one week during the height of the Bloodline angle it was the highest rated program on TV.
AEW would obviously be a much lower investment with much lower expectations even if it airs on Fox as opposed to FS1
I think Meltzer said everything will eventually be on Max
