If they can’t get Tessa then they should really just dissolve the women’s division. Bring back a women’s match for a PPV but not waste tv time on them.
I’m fine with that. Wwe should do the same

A few questions about the street fight.
Did all of the people involved just happen to agree to the same building and time to meet where it took place?
Was both teams’ entrance music blaring in the empty warehouse or was that just for the crowd at the show?
Why did the Sting followers all just disappear after a few minutes? Would’ve made the street fight a lot easier.

Granted, Christian was in one of the best tag teams in the past 20-25 years. But as a single, Edge was obviously the more standout star. Christian really never did a whole lot on his own in WWE and was a solid mid carder at best. His biggest push as a singles that I remember was during is TNA stint for a year and a half to two years. In terms in other sports, I feel like he'd be in the Hall of Good but not in the Hall of Fame, which I think is part of the reason why it was a letdown. As for the main event, I think we all witnessed why the hardcore stuff for the most part died out years ago and why these barbed wire death matches are not a regular thing.

And they also occasionally have Diamond Dallas Page around on top of that.

Christian is one of those guys from the mid-00s that WWE failed to pull the trigger on fully to really unleash his potential. Somewhere along 03 or 04, when they split Edge and Christian, Christian was pretty popular and on the cusp of breaking into stardom like Edge had. But they never let him break through. It was always something else going on and ultimately he decided to leave the company after being yo-yo'd around. When he came back (I think it was around 2011), fans started getting invested in him again. He did win the World Heavyweight Title which was the top title on SD, but it was those lame runs that WWE does sometimes where the guy only holds it for like a week or two. It totally killed his momentum. But after that, he started having his injury issues.

Basically this is just a long way of saying he did have the talent to be a standout star and you could see it being built to several times. It's just circumstances, whether bad booking or injuries, always popped up to derail things. So I don't really have a problem with hyping him as HoF talent because of that. But I do think its overkill when they started saying "huge huge star". He's not that and you're just hurting yourself by overpromoting.

The aftermath of the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley at AEW Revolution on Sunday fell flat, and Omega reportedly wasn't happy about it.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live (h/t WrestlingInc's Marc Middleton), Omega was "furious" over the way Revolution went off the air.

Omega and Moxley did battle in an entertaining match that resulted in Omega retaining the AEW World Championship. After the match, Omega and The Good Brothers handcuffed Mox and left him in the ring as the clock ticked down for the ring to explode.

Eddie Kingston ran down in an effort to save Moxley, but when he was unable to get him out of the ring, he draped himself over him in an effort to protect his friend. It was at that point that things went awry, however.

Rather than a dangerous, believable-looking explosion, some sparklers were shot off the ring posts and the beds of barbed wire outside the ring exploded in underwhelming fashion as well.

Despite that, Kingston and the announcers sold it as if a devastating explosion had just occurred. That only served to make everyone involved look silly.

AEW President Tony Khan attempted to explain what happened during the post-show media scrum by chalking it up to a storyline.

Per Jason Ounpraseuth of WrestlingInc, Khan said Omega "built a dud." Khan went on to add: "It looked very cool, and it's a very deadly, painful match, but at the end, I mean, I don't know what people really wanted, unless you actually wanted us to explode the guys at the end; there's only so much you can do."

While it is understandable why Khan felt the need to do damage control, it doesn't ring true since Kingston and the announcers didn't act as if it was a dud.

Ultimately, a poor ending overshadowed all the work Omega and Moxley did in the match, so if the AEW world champ truly is furious, it is understandable why.

From PWI about tonight’s Impact:

The final segment of Impact Wrestling on AXS not only shifted the Sacrifice PPV into a new direction but set the stage for the main event of the 2021 Rebellion PPV.

Impact Wrestling Executive Scott D'Amore revealed that the Sacrifice PPV main event would now be Title vs. Title with Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann vs. TNA Champion Moose in a Championship Unification match.

D'Amore then revealed that the Unified TNA/Impact Champion would then move on to the Rebellion PPV on Saturday 4/24 to face AEW Champion Kenny Omega in another Champion vs. Champion Unification match with Don Callis taking credit for being the puppet master behind all of this.

So, the implication is that by the end of April, there will be one World champion between AEW and Impact Wrestling, bringing forth a modern day equivalency to past AWA vs. NWA and WWWF vs. NWA Championship matches in the 1970s, all of which (Harley Race vs. Bob Backlund, Ric Flair vs, Rick Martel, etc.) were unique attractions but ended without a clear winner.
————————

Looks like Kenny Omega is gonna be champ of both companies come end of April.

Like Bryan said on that show, if anyone can verbally find a way to have it make any bit of sense, it's Eddie Kingston. Probably the best talker they have.

Have another question. I feel like I’m missing something here but what’s the big deal with Maki Itoh? I saw the pre show tag the other night and didn’t think she looked all that good.

Don't overthink it. She little hot Japanese woman. The internet wrestling community goes wild for her. There were people who were her "fans" before they ever saw her wrestle.

That Omega/Kingston/Christian segment was so good it makes it seem like the overhyping of the mystery HOF reveal and the explosion were both part of the same work

I didn't care for it. I liked the Mox/Eddie part from earlier in the show but the rest wasn't needed. The quicker you move on from the fireworks shitshow, the better.

I absolutely agree that they need Tessa. I'm guessing that her attitude is holding her back. But they could make her a star in one night if they wanted to. Do the angle where Shida says she wants to fight anyone for the belt and have Tessa come out and destroy her and become the champion.
There are all sorts of ways to do it and doing it without Shida or insert girl gets beat clean. All fans know of her attitude issue, use that. Especially now that Tully can take bumps again. But either way Tessa legitimizes the entire division. Otherwise I just don’t see the point of why even having one besides the WWE has one.

Not a bad show tonight. I think that I enjoyed the final segment the most. If anyone in the company can pull off the Ric Flair role of that group, it’s MJF. They can do the Blood and Guts with both factions at some point if they still want to try to do that at some point.
Eddie Kingston is gold on the mic. Probably the one I look most forward to watching every week.
One thing that I’m not a fan of is having a lot of turns the past couple of shows. QT and Scorpio Sky, along with I’m assuming Archer and Death Triangle turning back into heels (although I guess if you wanted to, you could argue that they never really turned). And then of course, you have Eddie and the Inner Circle turning face.

I feel like if she beat Shida to a pulp and put the women’s division on notice, that’d leave a bigger impact then her winning the title in a three way without pinning the champion. She’d fit in that group with Tully pretty good, just like Leyla Hirsch would with Team Taz.
