Haven't watched WWE in a while because I got tired of it.....I'd check out a new wrestling organization.

I did not know Chris Jericho was 48. thought he would be younger

He's finally starting to show his age. His hair line is starting to recede and it looks a little odd now that he's grown his hair out again. And he's starting to lose muscle mass so he's starting to rock that late 80s Ric Flair body a bit. But he's still able to put on some pretty darn good matches (like his latest at Wrestle Kingdom 13 against Naito). Obviously he works slower, but he's wise and crafty enough to still keep you engaged.

According to Meltzer, AEW is in talks with two major networks about a possible 2 hour live TV show

The rumor is WGN and TNT. I know Meltzer is trying to stir the pot by saying “major” but those would just be average gets for AEW. I mean it’s better than TNA or ROH but they’re not top notch networks either.

This just sounds like a money grab to me. Build something up with big enough names and Vince will buy it to shut it down.

I think TNT would be pretty big. It has an iconic history in wrestling from the Monday night war era and they have NBA basketball so there's a modern day sports presence too.
WGN would be fine as it's in a lot of homes but that feels mid tier cable to me

Apparently Jericho said his current deal with AEW is the best of his career.

As legendary as he is that's a ton of money for a 48 year old.

They're going to throw HUGE numbers at WWE stars soon.

TNT is definitely a "major" network. Turner is a huge entity and its channels are in basically every household that has cable/sat because their main networks (TNT, TBS, CNN, etc) are on the base tier packages for every provider. It's not free TV network status reach like CBS, NBC or FOX, but it reaches the same amount of people that USA does

Throwing out a name I haven't heard associated with AEW who could be a huge signing for them.

If they're looking for a "face of the women's division" then AJ Lee makes a lot of sense. She's the same age as Becky and Charlotte and brings a similar level of star power.

I hadn't thought of that. Is she still interested in wrestling?

And I believe that he's able to work elsewhere as well, so if he wants to, he can go back to NJPW and do a match with Tanahashi that I've heard he's interested in.
If I'm the Revival, I'd definitely be interested since they've been booked like afterthoughts ever since they've been on the main roster. I'd also really enjoy seeing Chad Gable get a shot at shining somewhere else. I think he'd be great in either AEW, NJPW or ROH.

It's a good question. She was forced into an early retirement because of the Punk situation so I'd lean towards yes if the money was right and the dates were low. I can't say for sure. With the way Brandi talked up the women's division AEW should at least make an attempt

I agree on both Gable and the Revival.

With the Young Bucks running AEW you know tag teams will be a focus and the Revival was so good in their NXT run.. Revival/Young Bucks could headline Double or Nothing or the next PPV and people would be more hyped for it than they would for almost any possible singles match.

Gable might be a 5 star/MOTY guy outside the WWE. He's that good.

It is a lot of $, but they needed an "A-lister" to help put AEW on the map right out of the gate to give it some mainstream appeal. I'd think the options were very limited in that regards, since virtually all of those big names are either currently in WWE or not wrestling anymore.

I don't disagree with any of this but it's still an indicator they're willing to spend big on this project.
