I was blown away by the MJF/Darby match. Just perfect storytelling and face/heel dynamics.

The worldtitle match felt monumental for both Hangman and the company. Hangman for obvious reasons but for AEW it's their first homegrown star to win the world's title. I've never connected with him the way everyone else does but his promos have been main event caliber lately. He seems ready. Danielson is a strange first challenger if that's where they're going next. Can either afford a loss this early in their run?

I know AEW isn't big on rematches but Eddie/Punk felt like the first chapter in a longterm feud. I hope that one continues through the next PPV.

Danielson can easily afford a loss. He's Bryan Danielson. He's a massive star to the point where basically nothing will take the shine off of him. Conversely, its an excellent opponent for Hangman but it just mints his status as a top guy even more. He beats Omega for the title and would beat Danielson in his first defense. That's arguably the two best wrestlers of the last decade (certainly top 5).

He can definitely absorb a loss but I think it'd have even more impact if they give him a winning streak first and then let Hangman beat him. His second PPV match is a main event title loss isn't how I'd book it unless they have a heel turn planned but they've done long term storytelling well so far so I'll go along for the ride.

With Kevin Owens contract coming up in January, I think they likely scenario is he goes to AEW and re-forms their indy stable Mt. Rushmore. Then once Omega heels up and comes back, there will be story about the Bucks being torn between the Elite and Cole/Steen, with Omega feuding with Cole/Steen

Pretty darn solid in the ring. Can work good matches with anyone. Very solid on the mic (with some HILARIOUS Ric Flair and Macho Man impressions*). While I don't think he's top level star quality at a major promotion like AEW, I think he's fine guy to have around. He's a perfect TNT Title guy and that can pop up for a AEW Title feud every now and then.


*If you aren't aware, he did a character back in TNA called Black Machismo where he was literally just being Randy Savage and despite it sounded stupid on paper, it was excellent

Have they put a timetable on it yet? I haven't seen anything other than something mentioning Kenny would like to be back by Feb. But depending on surgeries, that would put him out a lot longer.

That’s pretty much what I’ve heard. I heard he’s out of some AAA show he was scheduled for, so he must be getting this stuff done rather quickly.
