They're following the Saturday Night’s Main Event formula of putting the main event first and putting a less attractive match on last since they’ll likely bleed viewers late.

I don't know about that. He'd win this match but you're basically setting him up for either a loss in his 2nd match (Danielson) or a loss in his 3rd match (Most likely Hangman but possibly Omega). He's better to build long term, especially considering he's gonna playing some form of a new character.

This is a valid point. I might have missed it but did they specify when the title match will take place for the winner of the tournament? If not it's possible he can win and have a title match months down the road after a long winning streak.

Just future shot I believe. Finals of the Tournament is at Full Gear. I think they still plan on doing a special episode of Dynamite in December like they did last year (Winter Is Coming), that might be when the title match will be. They're also likely doing a special show on Jan 8th as well so it could be there.
