Just glad Cleveland's returning home with a 1-1 split.

Trevor Stephen was drafted by the Yankees in the 3rd round in 2017.

They left him off their 40 man roster and the Guardians took him- and kept him on the roster all last year in what amounted to some on the job training.

This year he has been great- and especially great in the 2nd half of the season.

Bc it’s a bullshit rule to begin with
Its probably the best rule change of them all. No more snooze fest 16 inning games burning bullpens up. Now, every at bat in extra innings counts.

But you can also get two sac flies to score a run. Kinda weird
Exactly. Every at bat counts. With no runner on second and you have the two fly balls you talk about, you got two out and nobody on and are probably moving on to another boring inning.

Guardians gotta win tomorrow against Severino.

Facing Cole with their backs against the wall does not seem like a good formula for a win.....

If the Yankees win tomorrow they have 2 games to win- one started by Cole. If the Yanks lose tomorrow they still have Game 4 with Cole and then home for Game 5- with I dont even know who pitching for the Guardians- Civale? Civale for Game 5 in Yankee stadium is scary.

Obviously in a 1-1 series Game 3 is going to be pivotal- but I think its very safe to say tomorrow's game is pivotal.

If I had to bet- I still give the advantage to the Yanks since they have 2 starts from Cole in this series- but its def. interesting and the Guards have a solid chance now.

Cole is not the pitcher in the playoffs that he is in the regular season for some reason

I never minded the long games except when it is 0-0 going into the 15th. Just a weird rule playing and watching baseball for all these years. I actually don’t mind it in the regular season, it makes sense. I totally agree with not adding it to the postseason though

I'm looking forward to the pitch clock next year.

Clase is obviously not Rivera- but I think he is the closest to Rivera stuff wise that we have seen. His cutter/slider combo- the unhittable cutter with the hard slider combo is the same mix that Rivera had.

Rivera is obviously the prob. the best that has ever done it---- but Clase might be the best in baseball right now- and going 2 and a 1/3 in Yankee stadium - coming in with the bases juiced- getting out of the jam, and then finishing it off was extremely impressive.

Yanks just have so much power. For the first 2 games you shut down a guy like Judge but Donaldson has been on base a ton and Stanton has wrecked the Guardians thus far. Tomorrow it could just as easily be Judge and Torres or LeMahieu that do the damage.

McKenzie better be on his game- especially because I cant imagine that Clase will be available tomorrow.

I am looking forward to the shift rule- if for no other reason than the contact-oriented Guardians should be a big benefactor.
That's an interesting one and is really going to help left handed hitters. Not sure I agree with it though. I think if you want to have 7 left fielders and a pitcher and a catcher and that works for you, go for it.

Yep idiots. I was in a bar watching the game and they were shit talking him there as well.
I’m a Philly fan and I know how that goes but that’s a bad look. 62 HR season and MVP.

Holy crap. I wouldn't expect something like that. Thought Judge was really well liked by fans.

Do some of the fans not like that he turned down a big offer before the season and bet on himself?

Exactly. And what would have the Yankees done during the regular season without him? Dude had a season for the ages. Fans shouldn't be booing him.
