I learned that in 1987 when Nolan Ryan:
    • Was a close second in the league with an ERA of 2.76
    • Lead the league in Hits per 9IP - 6.548
    • Lead the league in Ks - 270
    • Lead the league in K/BB - 3.103
    But had an 8-16 W/L record:noidea:

Shohei Ohtani will be placed on the disabled list with a grade 2 sprain of the UCL. He underwent a PRP and Stem Cell injection yesterday with Dr. Steve Yoon in Los Angeles. He will be re-evaluated in 3 weeks and we will update his plan of care at that time.

I tend to agree but there is usually one team every year that makes the playoffs with a mediocre run differential.
I present to you the 2016 Rangers who I've compared the M's to often this year

that doesn't mean it's sustainable. Look how the Rangers did the next season... after going 36-11 in one-run games in 2016, they were 13-24 the next year (granted that's also a bit extreme). they're 7-7 in one-run games this year. The 2012 O's were 29-9 in one-run games in 2012 and then they went 20-31 in 2013.

don't get me wrong, the Mariners are in a pretty good position to make the playoffs in some shape or form. 49-48 from here on out gets them to 90-72, which would very likely get them in the WC game. I could see them doing even better than that, especially if the rotation continues to pitch as well as it has lately. I just wouldn't expect them to keep winning one-run games as often as they have.

I heard here today that he will be getting Tommy John surgery soon!
What a bad break for the Angels, the player and the fan base.

Mainly Starting Pitching sans Felix has been better then expected. That and they have had a knack for getting the big hit late in games.
