With Alex Cora back at the helm, can the Red Sox make a run to the playoffs?

I'm optimistic the pitching will improve. Simply having Rodriguez and Sale (even if it isn't for a full season) would represent a significant improvement over the crap they were throwing out there. Eovaldi is a solid pitcher and there's a few intriguing arms in Houck/Pivetta/Seabold. It's still a below average rotation though. The lineup should score plenty of runs, but there's some holes at 1B/OF/2B. Renfroe adds some depth, but he still looks like a 1-2 WAR OF. I expect a rebound from Benintendi, but I'm starting to feel like his 2018 was a bit of a fluke. Hoping Downs and Casas can fill the holes in the infield but I don't expect them to be ready for another year.

I could see them finishing around .500 if Sale/Rodriguez/Eovaldi hold up and they get something out of one of the backend starters, but I don't see them really threatening for a playoff spot. Rays and Yankees are clearly better, and I think the Jays are going to be pretty good.

Still not great, but a lot more depth than a few years ago. Just lacking in high end prospects and upper minors talent.

Huge signing by the Yankees. I was worried they weren’t going to get it done this off season. That’s a huge check mark off there to do list.

Yanks rotation looking like this I'm guessing:

Cole
Sevy
Montgomery
Kluber
Garcia

Some question marks (mainly the durability of three of those pitchers), but at least there's some actual depth now. I think the rotation will be fine

Rays announce that early season capacity at the Trop will be limited to 7000 fans.

Question is, will anyone be able to tell the difference?

I am fully expecting a headline similar to this in the coming couple of months: "Red Sox outfield will miss season due to broke leg while shagging fly balls"

I thought that was the capacity to begin with

I just think it's hilarious that the Red Sox's #1 prospect is named Jeter.

But then, I'm easily amused.

:D
