This is the first time since 2002 that the Sox and Yanks have played each other with the 2 best records in baseball. Let's see if the Sox extra 60 million in payroll can help them squeeze out the series. Damn Sox always trying to buy a championship

Tanaka is always a wild card. He never seems to have a so-so game. He's either great or gets beaten like a red headed step child.

He's much better when they can get him an extra day of rest it seems like. All these Japanese guys are used to pitching on 6 or 7 days rest.

Ha. We've had the nicest spring in the 12 years I've been down here. Every day picture perfect with low humidity.

All over now though. Brutal humidity back until at least mid October. Hate that shit.

yanks already proved it doesnt help 341 mil for 1 title:suds:

New York was over the threshold from 2003-17, paying $341 million. The Dodgers have had the highest tax bill for the past four seasons and have paid nearly $150 million over the last five years.

I was just making a joke after all the years of hearing the same thing about payroll towards the Yanks. The funny part is, that if you look at the guys making the most on the Sox and the Yanks they aren't the most important players by a long shot. The Yanks are winning despite Stanton and Ellbury and the Sox are winning without much from Price.

Red Sox are paying Pablo Sandoval and Rusney Castillo almost $30M combined this year and next. Neither are on the team.

That lasted about 6 seconds

7 runs allowed without an out in the 1st inning

This team might be worse than the legendary 1988 team from back in the day.

Eh, If Ellsbury wasn't hurt all the time, maybe I could see your point. Girardi played the guy who was available. Most of the time that wasn't Ellsbury. And when he was healthy enough to play, he sucked.

that is not true. case & point, we had a one game do or die wild card , girardi chose gardner over ells.. we lost!
ellsbury healthy, is the better all around, more refined player than bulbhed! its not even close! ellsbury is still a yankee while girardi is not!
