Alex Cora told reporters on Sunday that Masataka Yoshida is more likely to hit in the middle of the order as opposed to leading off.​

Yoshida inked a five-year deal with the Red Sox this winter and showed excellent on-base skills in Japan which led some to speculate that the 29-year-old would be the leadoff hitter in Boston. However, Alex Cora threw cold water on that scenario with this announcement. Yoshida will be heading to the World Baseball Classic early next month as he will play for his home country, Japan. Yoshida is currently going just outside the top-200 in ADP this month and this news could push him up higher.

Pitch clock is AWESOME. Best thing baseball has done in a long time. Now they just need the robot umpires and we are all set.

Impressive. He's got good stuff and the hitter was just lost. The MLB Network analysts said he should have stepped out when he got to 2 strikes just to clear his head.

They are going to use them in the minors this year, from what I've heard. If I see a game where they're used, I'll report on it.

Can't believe it's been about 5 years since he's retired already. He was awesome in 2010-15. That Jays lineup with Donaldson/Bautista/Encarnacion was pretty scary.

Also, I completely forgot about Devon Travis. Hit well in 2015-16 (.301/.342/.469 with a 116 OPS+) and completely fizzled out after that.

I love that he already seems to have a great idea of the strike zone. Another reason I was surprised to see him 67th in BA's rankings. So much to dream on.

Volpe's kicking ass too, but slim to no chance he makes the team, despite what Boone is saying. He's not even on the 40 man.
