Yep, reality hit when they played much better teams in July. The injuries have also not helped. The offense has also tailed off as the only ones really hitting anymore are Verdugo, Pham and Arroyo. Bogaerts and Devers are having great seasons but they've been quiet at the plate (especially the latter). J.D. looks completely toasty. Duran has regressed.

Rotation has also regressed, but there's also been some injuries. Eovaldi was out but he hasn't looked great. Wacha and Hill just returned from the IL. Sale got hurt in his 2nd start and then broke his wrist on a bike like an idiot. Pivetta's regressed though he's looked much better in August. Kutter had been pitching well prior to last night's disaster (3.33 ERA in 54 IP entering the game) which bumped his ERA up from 4.18 to 5.14. Winckowski simply isn't very good.

The bullpen is simply a dumpster fire.

Never know man... who would have thought Pedro's worst start in 1999 would have come against a 98 loss Marlins squad that finished last in runs? Though to be fair, the Red Sox won anyway.
