Haha. I was just talking about Molson Ice the other day. That was very popular when I was in college. They did a great job marketing it and it was about as “premium” as we got in those days. Labatt’s Ice, too. Sadly, I think the Ice Beer craze passed long ago.Do they even still sell Molson ice?
I mean...look at this ad. It has it all! X Games style snowboarding, Ozzy Osbourne, slick graphics, fast edits. No wonder we all wanted it. Good marketing works.Haha. I used to buy a 12pack every Friday night for like 9 bucks. What was the marketing gimmick for ice beer? Higher alcohol content?I mean...look at this ad. It has it all! X Games style snowboarding, Ozzy Osbourne, slick graphics, fast edits. No wonder we all wanted it. Good marketing works.

We drank a lot of Keystone Light in those days because that what we could afford. Molson Ice was a splurge item and we all thought it was worth it.I used to buy a 12pack every Friday night for like 9 bucks. What was the marketing gimmick for ice beer? Higher alcohol content?
I think the other beers that were “hot” then were Icehouse & Red Dog. Do either of those still exist?I was going to say 1994, a friend of mine started drinking it because the alcohol level was real high at the time compared to all the other swill out there.....
