Yeah, its Boras, who seems to be getting more and more delusional

Apparently the Sox offer went from $100-$125, and I havent even heard another team approaching that number

At the end of the day, I dont know where else he would end up, and I hear he is sooooo bad in the field, he will have to land somewhere he could DH
I love how these agents build up the hype that all these teams are battling for the one player....."JD is in serious talks with the Phillies, Rays and Mets" Scott Boras

Gamble was one hell of a platoon hitter in NY. Batted .259/.361/.496 there though he only had one season with 300+ PA. Great hair too. RIP.

Just read that from 1973-1983, Gamble hit .277/.368/.487 (140 OPS+) with more walks than strikeouts while averaging 25 HR, just 56 K, and 4.8 bWAR per 162 games.....Not too shabby....R.I.P. OG

My limited memories of him, he seemed to generate a lot of power from that skinny frame

And his batting stance was always classic, something i always imitated when I used to dominate all the neighborhood jewish kids in stickball

Him and Ben Oglive

Gamble was a low ball hitter, literally would golf towering homers to RF...Speaking of Ben Oglivie, I was present when he hit the longest HR I've seen live off Guidry in 1980.....Blast half way up in the upper deck, gone in a second....Nice trade by the Sawx, got the corpse of Dick McAuliffe who had 5 homers and batted .210 and .133 in a very short stint....

I was at a game when Yankee Stadium would be half empty in the 80's where Ben oglive hit a line drive HR to RF, we all ran to chase down the ball, when we arrived, we realized he smashed a RF seat to pieces with the shot

Mookie Betts won his arbitration. $10.5M for 2018. Not bad for first year eligible.

Yeah, hes' already been outspoken about not wanting to sign long term

Watcha think on the yankees young guys, at what point do they start trying to lock up guys long term before they all potentially become $200 million players?

It will be interesting to see. The guy I'm most concerned about at this point is Didi. He has been everything I could've hoped for and more, but his FA is coming before everyone else's. Really like to see him get locked up now.

Makes the Machado thing interesting now that the O's are putting him back at SS this season, and thats where he wants to be long term

Wonder how the Didi thing with the Yankees plays out if they really intend to get in on Machado
