Some quick questions I have had

Why pitch Betances and Chapman on opening day with a 5 run lead? Let Kanahle and Robertson have that game.
The next night you let Chapman throw almost 30 pitches trying for a save?
Why was Betances on the mound for a second inning today?

Toronto played a better game then the Yankees today. Hopefully Boone learns how to use his bullpen better as the season goes on and does not wear them down early in the season.

1) To keep them fresh I guess? I don't pay attention to ST much but I'm guessing those 2 guys didn't pitch in several days leading up to the season

2) Betances had a quick enough 7th. Only needed 14 pitches. In a tied game, you want to try and use certain pitchers for more than an inning. Warren going down didn't help. Have to think he would have been out there for the 7th without the injury.

Boone is a first time manager and needs to find his way. He will make mistakes during his first few monthes on the job. Like I said I am hoping that he doesn't wear down the pen.

True but remember it was a tied game and we already were without Warren. Also Kahnle pitched more than an inning last night so not sure what his availability was tonight. At that point, I have to think he only truly had 2 more options left after Betances. Green and Robertson.

But he will learn. Only day 3 for him

he's given up 21 home runs in over 300 career innings. sometimes guys that don't give up home runs give up home runs... and sometimes they'll occur in a short span or in the same game. it happens

True. I'm more concerned with how bad he's been since the 2nd half of last year whenever he allows a base runner.

Very concerning to say the least that he struggles so much when a runner is on base.

Sanchez bailed him out in the 7th inning by throwing out Grandy but man that 8th inning was a freaking disaster after the HR because he's been pretty bad lately whenever pitching with a runner on base.
