They could not have had Grienke, or they would've signed him years ago.

Stroman, sure, but he was and is fool's gold. Gives up too many hits. Would not have been a true upgrade.

Now Verlander a couple years ago, was where Cashman dropped the ball in a major way-and the impact is still being felt, now and inevitably this October.
