Red Sox recalled INF/OF Tony Renda from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Renda is taking the place of Ian Kinsler on the Red Sox' active roster as the veteran second baseman hits the disabled list with a hamstring injury. The 27-year-old was tearing it up in the minor leagues, slashing .346/.394/.505 with four homers, 23 RBI and five swipes in 46 games between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket. He isn't expected to see enough action to be relevant from a fantasy perspective outside of a streaming option in AL-only formats.

Yankees acquired RHP George Kontos from the Indians for cash considerations.

Kontos will report to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 33-year-old began his big league career with the Yankees in 2011, appearing in seven games. He owns a career 3.12 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 355 1/3 innings at the major league level. He'll provide additional bullpen depth at Triple-A.
