Boy that certainly was fun. CC was terrible, they fouled off so many fat pitches he was lucky he only gave up the runs he did, it was only a matter of time before the Sox lit him up. But then they proceeded to flat out embarrass the Yanks. Stealing a base while the pitcher holds the ball? They scored on a run down, they scored on a grounder to 1st as nobody covered any base. Then they swelled up and went deep over and over. All this with what was probably their 7th-8th best starting pitcher going into the season on the mound.

Just an old fashion ass kicking

the yanks came out of the gate hot with a 4-0 lead. then at a blink of an eye it was 10-4. then it just went down hill from there. I usually look forward to these yanks sox games but lately ive been treading them

Injuries happen, and obviously the Judge injury is huge. But damned it would have been nice to throw the real Red Sox team at the Yankees. They sit their all star 1st baseman and have very good SS on the shelf and trot out a back of the rotation starter and they still destroyed them. If only they could have thrown Sale, Porcello, Price and E Rod at them with Valazquez catching, Xander at short and let's roll with that.

What an absolute disaster, completely bungled by the coaching staff. It was clear from about the 3rd batter that Holder had nothing, but Boone stays with him just long enough to put the game completely out of reach.

Not a good time of year for all your starters to forget how to pitch. Ugh. Just a complete and utter debacle.

Yep. Should have got someone up fast to keep the game within reach

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Yankees plan to call up Chance Adams to make his major league debut Saturday in Boston.

It's not the setting the Yanks envisioned for Adams' debut, but they didn't really have a choice. Adams holds a disappointing 4.50 ERA at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season, but he's struck out over a batter per inning and went 7 1/3 scoreless frames in his last start. The soon-to-be 24-year-old remains an intriguing arm over the long haul, but this should just be a spot start and it's not a situation where fantasy owners should be using him.:suds:

How many times do you see a team rally and take the lead with a bomb and that's pretty much the rally. But for the Sox to start it up again with the JD double and tack on more runs was really something.

They will destroy his confidence and he will start wetting the bed again after Saturday night.

Let's worry about tonight first.

"Luis Severino, in his past four starts, has allowed 19 runs in 19 1⁄3 innings. That’s an 8.84 ERA, and to any rational observer, it’s a flashing warning light for the Yankees’ ace."

Lennon: Sevy hasn’t aced any of his last four tests

If severino coughs up a hairball again tonight with your legendary bullpen tired, it could be a long night and the rest of the series. Looks like both teams could use a week off.....
