Because teams are clearing money for next year, and they aren't all going to get a Machado/Harper. So there will be teams with money.

I think Barca is the best team in the world and Messi gets his 5th title this year. I love them at +110. Chelsea lost 3-0 to Bournemouth at the Bridge just 3 weeks ago.

There's a pretty big divide in their projections for the Red Sox offense. Fangraphs has the Sox scoring about 83 more runs than PECOTA.

That 85-77 projection for the Rays also seems awfully optimistic.

A few weeks ago, PECOTA had the Yanks winning the division by 9 games, now I see it's down to 8.

So JDM is worth only 1 win?

Color me skeptical.

I believe it in the sense they probably never were able to put a deal in place that made it far enough to ask him to do it

But no doubt they were trying, that part is def true

I'm sure he's not thrilled to be the 5th OF either. Maybe Cash is hoping for a ST injury, where out of desperation a team might be inclined to take on more salary then they would have over the winter.
