Absolutely nuts. There is no way they're not regretting this deal almost immediately.
It's like when Ron Burgundy jumps into the bear pit...."I immediately regret this decision"

3 mil for a #8 why not:suds:

God, that's a good deal for Baltimore...

Tillman was good as recently as the first half of 2016 (12-2, 3.41 ERA at the break).

I've always been a fan of his and if last year was an indication that he has fallen off due to injuries, then you're only out 3 million, BFD.

5 yr/110 for JD
just needs to stay healthy:suds:

J.D. Martinez - OF - Diamondbacks
ESPN's Pedro Gomez reports that a deal between the Red Sox and J.D. Martinez is "done."

It's a five-year, $110 million contract with opt outs after the second and third years of the deal. The deal is front-loaded, as Martinez will make $50 million in the first two years and $72 million in the first three, per Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports was first to report that there was momentum for a deal between the two sides. The Red Sox and Martinez seemed destined to wind up together even as it took much longer than expected. He will serve as Boston's designated hitter, pushing Hanley Ramirez to first base

Glad they didn't break the bank for Martinez.

Tillman had some good years in Baltimore and not that long ago, but his peripherals have always been pretty meh.

I guess I could see that. He's not overpowering, I just always considered him a gamer.
