Looking like the O's are gonna get Tyler O'Neill for 3/$49.5M. He had a 132 OPS+ in 2024, but he has only one other season (min. 450 PA) with an OPS+ above 100 and only one other season with 100+ games. I didn't think he'd get that much, but good for him. Apparently the O's are also moving their left field wall back, so that should only help him.

Yeah you guys can't blame anyone in the Yankees FO if Soto signs with the Mets. This is more than I would offer so they have done more than i expected

Soto gone

I wouldn't have been happy if they gave him 15/765

Life goes on
Honestly, that contract is absolutely ridiculous and the Yankees can sign 3-4 guys with that kind of $$$ instead. Yankees might have dodged a bullet with that contract in the last 5-6 years. We’ll see. Soto, as amazing as he is, is a liability on defense and will just be a $50m DH for many years.

Ok. Who’s left for the teams that want to spend a lot this winter(Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Dodgers) and who is going where? The hot stove is finally officially cooking:

Top names:
Corbin Burnes
Bregman
Fried
Alonso
Flaherty
Santander
Teoscar
Manaea
Christian Walker
Tanner Scott
Eovaldi
Profar
Jeff Hoffman
Gleyber
Carlos Estevez
Joe Peterson
Andrew Heaney
Nick Pivetta
Jose Quintana
Scherzer
Goldschmidt
Buehler
Kahnle
Soroka
Kirby Yates
Kyle Gibson
Verlander
JD Martinez
Charlie Morton
Kenny Jansen

Pretty top heavy list there. I’m guessing Alonso to the Yankees will happen now. Sox should get Burnes or Fried, maybe? Yankees might give Teoscar a hard look. Bregman back to HOU??

Yanks screwed the pooch when they ignored Harpher and Machado in past free agent classes.

With Soto gone they are so much less scary

Judge is 33. Cole 34. Stanton 35. Rodon is good every other season and has plenty of injury concerns in his past. Gil has had 2 tommy john surgeries. LeMahieu is cooked.

As a Yankee hater- I hope they give Fried and Bregman/and or Alonso big money. Fried is good but seems injury prone. Bregman has lost a step and is gonna get big money from someone. Taking the Mets sloppy seconds in Alonso would be entertaining- while he did have big post season moments its clear he is on the downswing as well.

Seeing the Yanks steal Burnes away from the O's would be funny.

Vladdy and Tucker are in the next FA class. I wouldnt be surprised if they kept their powder dry for one of those 2 next year.

Sox should get Burnes or Fried, maybe? I've seen reports suggesting the get both!...

This week should be fun!

And don't forget the trade market. Garret Crochet is gonna bring a haul to Chicago...

Well shit

Watching the hitter with the best plate awareness of his generation walk out the door to go crosstown definitely sucks.

Can't really say it was about the money though when you're talking about less than 1% difference in the offers. He just didn't want to be a Yankee all that much.

I also think playing on the same team as judge bothered him. Real Yankees fans would always love judge more
