How about the rarest of the rare, the HR cycle?

Has happened twice in the minor leagues, never in MLB.

Mike Cameron hit 4 in the first 5 innings of a game, which is bonkers. All solo shots. He had multiple chances to become the first 5 HR guy

And in only 3 of those were the HR hit off 4 different pitchers

Now I got to go look up those 18 games and see which ones had weird stats.

I'll never forget Damon getting 3 hits in the 1st inning of that 25-8 game against the Marlins. He was a homer away from the cycle.

The coolest thing I've seen in person was Wilmer Flores going 6-6.

I think the immortal Carl Pavano started that game for the Marlins. Very memorable game. I recall I was watching the gamecast on my PC at work. Then I left work to go home(I didn’t have satellite radio or a cell phone that had live scoring in those days). It was a pretty long commute, too. By time I got home the Red Sox were still batting in the first!

I know Soto is the top priority for the Yankees, of course. But if they didn’t land him, would it be the worst thing if they pivoted to…

Alonso/Burnes?
Walker/Bregman/Fried?
Alonso/Adames/Burnes?

Etc…..

If they get Soto they would probably not have a ton to spend at the top tier after that and there are potential holes at 1B and 3B or 2B to fill. They also probably need a plan B if Dominguez isn’t ready to be a full-timer yet.

Are going to be mad at Hal/Cash if they don't offer Soto 15/730?

Forget Adames! He’s off to SF for 7/$182m
