I went to sleep in the middle of the fourth and missed that

Sliding head first into home has never been a smart thing…..I learned early on that the catchers shin guards usually won, although Jazz didn’t get injured hitting them…..

Even with all the injury prone players that the Marlins develop, they still have 2 more championships than the Guardians do in the last 65 years.
Even all this being true…Mr Jazz is still injured again.
If it makes you feel better Lane Thomas blows

In another stunning development, James Paxton is out for the rest of the season. There was absolutely no reason to bring him back at the deadline. What a waste of an opportunity.

I thought it was pointless even without considering his injury history. There were plenty of red flags around his performance. Velocity was down, shitty peripherals.

100% pointless and a real sign that Red Sox didn’t really take their chances seriously in 2024.

I had Paxton diagnosed properly in July…

The weird thing is the Red Sox already had the full “James Paxton Experience” last year and he was mediocre, at best. He’s pretty-much cooked at this stage of his career. I don’t really get it.

You blame them?
They could have been an interesting wild card team with a decent starting pitching addition, or 2. But they didn’t even try. And as I’ve learned from Yankees fans over the last decade or so: “the postseason is a crapshoot”.

They just needed to make a push to get in and didn’t bother. And they have a bunch of prospects to trade and room under the luxury tax, as well. They just punted on the opportunity instead.

Another reason you don’t use your closer for 45 pitches in August. No reason a closer should be unavailable back to back games because the manager is a clown
