Where did you find this? I haven't really seen anything on Twitter or MLB Trade Rumors, among other places, reporting this.

If it were true though, I wouldn't blame the Yankees one bit. Yankees have plenty of issues on offense, but Howard wouldn't help. Howard's power numbers have even been declining for years now and he only has a .154 ISO right now, which is just above league average. A 1B that can't hit for power, get on base (only .302), run or field is a bad player.
