Yes, there is always going to be something flukey about 13-0, and you need hitting support to do that. But guess what.... Doug Fister got 6 runs of support the previous day and got an ND. Sometimes it's what you do with that support. Scherzer has kept his team in every game except a couple where he gave up 5 runs and the hitting bailed him out. So (for Shane), give him losses in those games. What would you have....

11-2, 3.09 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, Sub-.200 BA against (both RH and LH batters) and 139 Ks in 116.2 IP. If the media was praising him for that, I get the feeling you'd still call him "overrated".

By the way, since last year's all-star break, Max is 22-2.

To clarify the Scherzer point, what would Max's record be if he pitched for say... the Twins. I am guessing not 13-0. Probably 7-6. I think KC and Clev are in this thing, the Tigers have not shown superiority to date.
